What are you playing right now?

Shining Force 2

Playing on the "Outch" difficulty, which requires A LOT more grinding than usual because enemies kill you in 1-2 hits. The downside is that you'll wind up stuck in Lv20/30 hell since exp gain comers to a halt and you wind up with 1 point.

Thankfully the secret fairy area is the perfect place to grind, and once you reach lv40 and promote your team then the game get's fun again.

Last week, if you lived in the E.U., this famous Ubisoft game turned twenty years old.

It’s going on sale for cheap, and I might actually buy it because it was the first game that I can honestly say that I’ve never heard before until now. Most of the fan and user reviews rate this either an 8/10 or 9/10.

Picked up Pacific Drive, been enjoying it a lot. One problem though the game seems like its always night and I either have to bump up all the brightness settings to max or keep them normal for a few hours till I get sick of squinting at shit.

Trying out Space Haven. It's a game I've touched once or twice before in the past, a kind of management game where you're controlling a group of people on a spaceship as you build it up and harvest resources and hop between systems. It's been in early access for a pretty long time, saw it updated recently.

The thing is: the tutorials don't work. I don't mean the first, primary one, which is sort of a guided (but still very loose) introduction to some of the basics. I mean the more focused, newer ones on things like dealing with fires or setting up crew management schedules. You just cannot click on things. Some UI elements work, but then things like "Click on the door" just fail to register. I have no idea how something like this could have made it through testing. I can only assume that there's some kind of super-rare bug involving some part of my system. The alternative gives me a headache.

The game itself seems fine and it looks like they might've improved some things over time, but I'm just so confused by this bug I had to mention it.

I finished My Time at Sandrock and it might be the most based and whitepilled game I've played in a while. Seriously, if you're even passably interested in life/farming sims it's definitely worth full price. I usually speed through games like this and even then it took me >100 hours to complete the main story.

Unless you're looking for strictly farming it blows Stardew Valley out of the water without a question. The characters are better. The main and side stories are better, the music is better, and Sandrock is beautiful. Now all I can think of when I commute to work is how much I fuckin hate the city and wish I could live out in the country again...

Been trying to get into Shadow Empire again. It's one of those autism wargames where you're trying to deal with troop movements and logistics, but also has 4x elements of building up cities and managing your internal affairs like competing political parties and interest groups, with each commander having their own relationship level with you and government likes/dislikes. You know, one of those games where you're sitting there referencing a 400-page manual, the game defaults to NATO counters for units, the UI is ugly (hell, everything in it is ugly), but the actual strategy and AI is well-developed. It didn't really click with me until I started watching a random playthrough of the game, which was surprisingly more insightful on how to manage all these systems compared to some of the extremely dry and verbose tutorial videos I've seen. Still learning by fucking up, but eh, that's how it goes.

Also trying Morrowind again. I've always found it a lot harder to get into than the latter ES titles. Guess I'm just a casual scrub at the end of the day.

Last epoch till dragon doggy 2.

My favorite things to build is an auto-bomber + multi cast on crit DoT on hit crit combo on games like this.

I'm pretty sure I'm the source of a chunk of crashes in-game. I'm only level 70 but I already essentially "cast" at least 15 things a second (to cap a thing that has a 20% chance of occuring 3 times a second). Again minimum. Each hit creating at least 4 DoTs and resistance shreds per hit.

Add mana use -> ward/ES/shield and mana before hp and I am a fucking god with 50k eHP.

Just finished Banishers of new Eden. Fuck i kinda loved it until the end not dropping spoilers but i was really disappointed with the ending choices, so much so i seethed about it for a days. Gotta say thought it was a gorgeous game with interesting fight mechanics, the black bitch is still OP as shit though in most fights, it was written well for the most part but that ending really ruined the entire game for me. Glad i didn't pay for it.

I'm just hanging out for Outcast tomorrow and Battlefront, at least outcast will fill my eurojank hole that ELEX 2 hasn't scratched yet,

Finished War Mongrels.
IF you are fans of the old Commandos game and Desperados, this is the game for you.
It is hard as balls and unfair at times (at the end, I just started to look at guides), but it is fun and the plot is good.

Got Insurgency: Sandstorm on sale. So far I've been disappointed/frustrated with it. What I expected was something between Call of Duty and the tactical shooters like Isonzo, Rising Storm 2, Hell Let Loose, Squad, etc.

Instead, it feels (depending on mode) more like COD (I've never owned a modern COD game, but I know what they're like and I've played the shitty knockoff modes in things like Battlefield) or Counterstrike. Much more realistic in terms of basic theming, but still way more fast and reckless. However, you also still have the style where one shot will probably kill you, so when you combine the two it's constantly getting gunned down like RS2, but without the feeling of a meaningful story like a RS2/Isonzo game.

I have seemingly become addicted to MS Flight Sim recently so that's what I'm playing. I've been seriously considering getting a proper flight stick for it because an Xbox controller really, really sucks for controlling planes. It's too imprecise and as a result the movements are too big and sudden.

I've mostly been sticking to the various prop planes because I can actually land them, but I was able to land the Cessna jet the other day with minimal issue so maybe I'll start flying the jets more.

A few days ago I dusted off my Xbox360 and went through my pile of unplayed games. Found a Just Cause collection CD with 1 and 2. Never played any Just Cause game so I started with 1. It starts chill and stays chill until story mission 12 or 13 or so and then the difficulty goes to batshit insane crazy what the fuck is going here. Besides all the other issues the game has: how could this game start a whole series? How?!

Recently got back into GTA Online. I did two salvage yard heists and oh boy are the main npcs massively cringe. I haven't done the new raid yet, I'm just mostly trying to keep things casual in small private sessions.
