What are you playing right now?

First run of Dragon Age: Origins. My character is a female city elf rogue. Went in blind and really enjoying it. I'm a loser for diverse dialogue options, relationship building, and micromanaging combat and inventory. The end of this playthrough is in sight (I think) so after finishing I'll install Awakening and look into mods. My only real complaint is the game crashing to desktop, even with the 4gb patch. I'm quicksaving after every battle and before any area transition just to be safe. It's a pain.

Replaying MGS5. It's a damn shame Konami owns the Fox Engine. The story is kind of dog shit but the gameplay controls are the best in a 3rd person action game. It was also a missed opportunity with how empty the open worlds are. It takes place in Soviet Afghanistan but there is no random skirmishes between Russian troops and insurgents. It would have been cool to have maneuver between the two fighting sides like in 4. Another missed opportunity. It's a flawed masterpiece and it sucks that its the swan song for the series.

Playiñg the thief remake (such a rip-off of the Dishonored series, frankly)
Playing little Nightmares as well, looks okay, this far
Still playing TLOU2 like a boss.

Playing Lego Batman on my 360. Repurchased it at EB Games around 2018 because my older copy went missing.

I had quite a bit of fond memories about this game. I remembered playing it when I was 6 or something. Me and my friend Davin used to play it quite a bit. I also remembered that one time while playing the game at Jordan's house (except this time, it was the PS3 version), I managed to finish the first level and beat Clayface. Unfortunately, I didn't know how to beat the second level and got stuck during the Mr. Freeze boss, losing all my precious studs in the process. I also downloaded the demo of the game around 2012 (cuz again, my original copy of the game went missing) and I used to play the hell out of it, among other things. I still have the demo installed to this day.

Another thing that popped up in my head while writing this post (and something I completely forgotten about) is that they had a cross promotion with McDonald's in 2008 where they made Happy Meal toys to promote the game. I actually used to own one of the them and it was Batman. I no longer have it, but here's some pictures of it, as well as the promotion for the toys.

Ugh... This brings back so much memories!

Here's the toy that I used to have.

I've been playing Godfather 2 on PC, it's pretty good, I remember the defend/takeover territory system being a pain in the ass when I first played it before years ago but now it's going fine.

Playing Shin Megami Tensei 4. I played Nocturne and while I do like the music, art, and cell shaded graphics of Nocturne I'm still enjoying myself so far. The only drawback is the Tokyo map lmao. It's so huge and the random encounters don't help either. Can't wait for the 5th game next year. Only reason I bought a switch tbh.

Yakuza like a dragon. I just defeated the diaper mafia boss and because it's a JRPG now once you beat him you can fucking summon him Final Fantasy style like Shiva or some shit.

It's pretty great.

On a whim I decided to boot up System Shock 2 again.

I forgot how much I fucking love this game. Out of all the "immersive sim" games that came out around that time, it's easily my favorite and it's the best game in the Shock series period.

Pokemon Sword, beat shit up with Beware.
oh man, i pre-ordered both games because i have pokemon shill disease and they're probably the most underwhelming pokemon games i've played since x and y. did you start the DLC yet?

right now i'm replaying pokemon crystal since i got into modding gameboys recently and i'm trying to complete the pokedex while crawling my way through the outer worlds, divinity: original sin 2 and disco elysium. i'm pretty busy with work so i only get to play video games like, for an hour or two a day. i miss being an unemployed teenager with all the time in the world to play games lol

FFXIV, taking advantage of the free login campaign.
Not sure if its even worth resubbing when they havent added a new savage tier in 9 fucking months.

Don't have it. I don't play often enough to warrant buying it. Had the game for months and only got beat two leaders. I don't hate it but once I stop I don't feel a reason to start it up again. I have read that the DLC is better so whenever it does finally click with this game I might buy it.

I'm currently playing Othercide and holy shit am I in love with it! 😍 It's basically XCOM meets Claymore where you fight against all kinds of fucked up Lovecraftian horror monsters. It's a very hard game, expect a lot of your "daughters" (the women who fight said Lovecraftian monsters) to die and you have to be pretty big-brained about how to fight because this game doesn't let you savescum. The art style is pleasing and it has an absolute banger of a soundtrack!

I will sperg in more detail about it or even make a thread once I finish my current playthrough.

Black Mirror - no, it has absolutely nothing to do with the TV series about technologically-advanced dystopic futures. I'm surprised it managed to keep its title but anyway;

A guy inherits his ancestral home in Scotland after the death of his father (wasn't even 5 mins into the game and the dude was immolating himself on the moors) and is aquainted with what remains of his estranged family.

The game is essentially a point-and-click adventure. The graphics are PS2 cutscene quality because it's a low budget game but it has an intiguing story and a very smooth-voiced protagonist who has some witty commentary to dispense when interacting with objects and people. The dialogue and characters overall can be quite endearing and there's puzzels which while not mind-bendingly challenging are sufficient to make me pause and think for a bit.

Sadly the game is absolutely plagued with loading screens; it's all set on this estate but literally every time you move between rooms the game has to load it. It's beyond ridiculous and I can gather that this is why it's a cheap purchase.

The controls can also be very janky, particularly when trying to see my inventory, journal or when trying to examine items - if my character is not positioned exactly - doesn't matter if he's in front of the object - I need to be positioned in a specific way or I won't be able to hit the X button. If I hold the forward button for just a little too long he moves right past the thing I want to interact with.

I have a feeling that I will have finished this game tomorrow evenings as there are five chapters and I'm on the third. Despite my grievences I am able to tolerate the loading screens and am enjoying the story.

Just beat Mafia DE, which is definitely my GOTY (although I honestly haven't played many 2020 game) so I now I have to find maybe one more single player game before Soyberpunk. I could either go back to Divinity OS2 or play Red Dead 2.

Heavy Rain. Complete trashfire but for some reason I can't put it down. Reminds me of Deadly Premonition but with considerably less charm.
That game was horribly bugged when I first played it hopefully it works better now.

Original or remaster? I'm thinking of trying the remaster.

Remaster? *googles* I'm playing the PS4 version so yes. Don't set your expectations too high, it's a decent point and click with some solid voice acting but as I said previously, the graphics are like something from a PS2 cutscene and there's loading screens whenever you move between rooms.

I've also encountered glitches on chapter 5 - the first one being that I couldn't fucking move when my character and lady companion had finished talking to Lady Margaret in the Old Wing, so I reloaded the save - only to encounter another glitch that had deleted the contents of my inventory and made Lady Margaret invisible. So I'm going to have to reload from an earlier save.
