Switching Between Katana Zero and Hades both fantastic and highly recommend.
 
Door Kickers 2. Despite being early access, it's already got more depth to the planning than the original. The missions seem more difficult as I haven't managed many 'fully planned" runs yet.

Borderlands 2, enjoyed the first game back in the day, so far this one feels like more of the same so not super impressed, just decent mindless shooting to kill a few hours here and there.

The 'humor' is also really grating.
 
Picked up the Steam version of Darkstone a while back, finally got around to playing it through. Or more accurately, attempting to. Beat it on Novice easily, Unlocked Expert and gave that a go. (Expert = Normal, don't ask me why it is classed that way.) Very strange temporary difficulty spikes, but other than that I essentially cruised through the game as well second time through. What my Wizard couldn't kill my Amazon could, and vice versa. Basically still only died when I wasn't paying attention, since I'd have YouTube or an audiobook going at the same time on my second screen.

Until I hit the final boss a second time. So far I've died three times, which would normally be a whatever from me, but I've gotten pretty much instantly killed three times. Like the cut scene ends I drop a few magic bombs and I'm dead. Dunno if I want to bother with the self-flagellation, since I seem to be making no progress. 1990s me would've stayed up all night until Draak was dead, 2020 me is apparently a bit less engaged.

Had it back in the day in the old cereal box, install from a CD version. On my Windows 98 machine.

Still 8/10 if you're wearing 'memberberry goggles, which I clearly am, I'm guessing 4.5/10 if you're not.

As an aside, I was amused to see that beating the game on Steam unlocked this gem of 1990s nerd cringe on the Start screen, same as the ol' CD cereal box. It isn't an option to view in game until you beat the game. So get to work, nerd.


Ah, the 1990s. When every white female singer who wasn't Tori Amos still managed to sound like Tori Amos. Or maybe Alannis Morrisette. Though this gal seems to be channeling Melissa Ethridge.
 
Monster Hunter World

Going through the lower Master Rank quests to get my little "Completed" stickers. I've also rekindled my love affair with the greatsword, MHW's moveset makes it so much more fun. My current loadout is a Punish Draw/Slugger Secret/Partbreaker/Attack +7 build. I just smack monsters on the face all day until they fall over. It's great fun knocking a wyvern out of the sky with one well timed cheeky draw slash. It almost feels bad how much I bully the poor things. Almost.

Life is Strange: Before The Storm. Chloe is as petulant, impulsive and selfish as I remember.

Rachel is * ~ spontaneous and free-spirited uwu ~ * and apparently she's the source of supernatural stuff in this game.

Pokemon Trading Card Game 2 on Game Boy Color, the fan translation

It's just an improved version of the first game, but now there's a plot and a whole new island and they added a bunch of newer cards. It's pretty great if you ever played the game in its earliest days, and it's a shame that's the last game before they just migrated to that online version. Like, I get the whole deal with getting your players hooked into buying booster packs for the rest of their lives, but it'd be nice if they had at least kept the series going into the DS days. There was even the e-Reader on GBA that actually did let you scan certain Pokemon cards, but all that did was display some information about said Pokemon. They couldn't have used that for a potential GBA / DS game? Really?

Anyway it's really fun and you should give it a shot if that sounds appealing, the translation calls it "Pokemon Trading Card Game 2: The Invasion of Team GR!" so look for that rom

Very late to the party, but binged Hypnospace Outlaw and finished in a few hours ago. What a great little game.
 
This may sound geeky, but I've been playing Bravely Defualt (an RPG on the 3DS) lately. I got it years ago but set it aside.

Finally reached the final boss of "Bravely Default" (lost lol).

During the final battle, the 3DS camera is activated to use the image from IRL as the "Celestial Realm" ("神界" - god realm). That could lead to hilarious or disturbing imagery with the situation.

SYNTHETIK kicks me in the balls with all it's might right now, but I hope I'll figure it out, because it is ve-e-ery far away from all these rogue-lites in terms of gameplay.

Streets of Rage Remake has been updated for the first time in 9 years, so I'm tearing through that again while I jump back and forth between other games.

Streets of Rage 4 is incredible, for the record. I also just discovered Streets of Kamurocho, which is pretty cute for a promotional game. I hope someone rips the sprites out of it and incorporates the "characters" into the (hopeful) next Streets of Rage Remake update, just for shits and giggles.

Resident evil 4 stuck in a castle level with the zealots. They just dont stop I've had to switch tactics several times including sniping them through the one door at the back of the room (with the pressure plates to raise the Crank to lower a bridge*) the worst part is at one pont so much was going on at one time the game crashed.



*Resident evil 4 is just a very dark and violent zelda game when you actually think about the puzzles on the castle section
