Apparently the Glen Cook is working on a final wrap up to the most recent (couple decade old) books, and has been working on them for that whole time really. I found the last few releases were a big of a slog, they felt like campaign of attrition. And to be fair, that is what they were portraying more or less. He's remarkably good at building a mysterious, unique, and lived-in world for a guy who grounds characters so well. I almost wish there was more world loreI've been reading Chronicles of the Black Company, and am currently at Book 3 (The White Rose). This is the best first person fantasy I've ever read, the world feels true and lived in. Every side character and villain are written so well that I could accurately predict their next actions and dialogue, they feel like real people. I can't recommend this series enough.
