I built it a few years ago and its still runs everything pretty well, the LG Monitor was the last thing I got for it and made a huge difference I found. First thing I think I'll upgrade is the CPU but I'm in no rush.

What I love about how CPU's have been since the original i3/i5/i7 is you can still use a CPU from 2012 (3570k in my case for example on my other build with a 660Ti, still fast enough for just normal things and most games at medium or even high... 16gb DDR3 and a 480Gb SSD). It's still great and pretty fast 8 years later. Imagine saying that in the Pentium and even in the Core era. I remember the difference between my 64MB Celeron 300 and my P3 500 256MB was night and day... It used to take up to a minute to load some MAME roms back in the day, and once I upgraded, it was instant, and no lag...

The AMD does OpenCL and runs my desktop, the nvidia does CUDA and can be passed through to vms when I trick the nvidia drivers into not noticing. Windows 10 with looking glass is SO smooth, 100hz native in a window. It's all air cooled with a noctua nh-u14s (threadripper version) but the GPU's could really use liquid cooling especially if I add a third for more flops

Eta; watch MSI's RTX lines if you are getting cheap models. The ventus models have lower power limits than even FE cards. I'm happy, except for the fact that between my last build and this one, every fucking soyboy and his favorite tittystreamer has gotten a NZXT case.

CPU COOLER:
Modified Hyper T2 Running Dual 92mm Fans.
Reason: I am not a fan of using large chunks of metal and anchoring them to the motherboard. I used to repair motherboards back in the 90's when the repair cost started at $800. Because motherboards that were being repaired were at the 2 grand range. I've seen what happens when a mother board delaminates due to heat/pressure.

Note: Because of the low timings due to testing it was equal or better to most PC 3600 with timings of CAS of 16 or higher. It was also on sale at the time of purchase.

Note: An excellent RX 5700 reference card for the price I purchased (279). I am running on 1440p setting and my main Game Overwatch am getting 160fpm on their high settings.

Since then I have added 5 860 EVO's, 4 WD 2TB, 16GB of Ram and the 4x SSD trays later in 2020 when I saw some sales.
Since 1/2020 the costs of building any rig went up drastically. And example would be my Rosewell PSU which cost me $76. The same PSU now will cost $140 on NewEgg. The case was a huge score for me as I was able to pick up a "open" box of the 500r for $75. It was old stock and was brand new but since they opened up to check on it I got a discount.
Man I feel sorry for people trying to upgrade now. It feels like 2016 over again.

This thing fucking sucks. It has a periodic flicker and sometimes "crashes" so badly it won't power on from standby and needs to be unplugged and plugged back in. It inherits these problems from the 32" BenQ panel that sits inside the fancy "gamer" housing.
