What do you think of Taylor Swift?

I have no idea what she sounds like and can't name a single song. I thought her career was over years ago. But I guess it all flew over my head. The radio station I listen to doesn't play her music so I never hear it. If it comes on in a store or something I wouldn't even know it's her. Same with Beyonce. I only know that "Put a ring on it" song.

I'm surprised she's so huge. I don't get it at all. I bet she's a bitch offstage.

Pretty average looking*, makes bland and disposable music, a LOT of her songs are about her relationships (usually her failed ones), she has a creepy cult-tier fanbase, and she is definitely nowhere near as talented as her supposed "popularity" would have you think. She also has a pretty generic sounding voice overall and is definitely astroturfed to hell.
I thought her career was over years ago.
Same. Last time I actually heard her songs on the radio was back when I was in high school. She'd faded from my awareness for over a decade.

*She's still easy on the eyes, but it's obvious she has good makeup artists on her team. 100% natural, and I'd wager she's probably pretty in a "girl next door" kind of way.

She is emblematic of the poor state of the music industry. Honestly, when was the last big pop-star? Every big one today was big between 2009-2012 either in music or through Disney/Nick: TayTay, Gaga, Styles, Grande, Rodrigo, Carpenter.

The fact that an overall pretty mid musician from 09 managed to stay relevant and is currently the biggest star just goes to show how little new talent HollyWeird has. Had she come out a decade prior from when she did, she would have been quickly replaced by the newest music thot.

She's the most boring, generic, inoffensive, mid, etc, thing ever. Hasn't made anything good, hasn't made anything memorably shitty. Or anything memorable at all.

Same for her persona. nothing particular to like about her, nothing to hate about her either.

It's pretty much intentional IMO. Biggest potential fan base, composed of normiecattle who react easily (and predictably) to marketing.

So maybe she's really the smartest bitch ever. But for some reason I don't think she's the one who actually worked out the strategy.

I do not like her at all, but her complete cultural takeover wouldn't have been possible without the rest of the world going full clown circus. Swift is everything and nothing at the same time. You can project whatever you want onto her, even her lyrics are very mundane and can be twisted to fit whatever narrative you want. Swift can be 4chan's Aryan princess or Brat Kamala's favorite cat lady wine auntie, depending on who you are. If you pay attention to pop music at all, it's not surprising that she's gotten this big.

The person who said she is the musical equivalent of MrBeast is right. Swift was born to business mogul parents and she's managed her entire career with a very corporate mindset. From the very beginning, when her daddy bought shares in the record label that signed her, Taylor was marketed as a country-pop star for teenage girls. Most pop stars around that time (Katy, Rihanna, Gaga, Beyonce) were marketed towards men or the general public which are less loyal than teen girls. Add in the fact that she's been playing the victim ever since Kanye rushed the stage during the VMAs in 2009, and you get a very effective underdog narrative that average girls can latch onto. She isn't threateningly gorgeous, or immensely talented, which is why so many dumb bitches like her. Taylor is the ultimate basic bitch that the average woman can rally around.

I am not really impressed by her but I can see how others are, she is a modern woman who is too empowered to hold a relationship, other modern feminist women find that very relatable.

She is not fat and I would have sex with her
I too would cum on her face.

Oh, we're supposed to talk about her music? Yeah, I have to agree that she's White Noise as a musician. My random Youtube music playlist has better vocalists than her and pop compositions have gotten pretty basic in the 21th century. Rap for men, Pop for women, but it's all repetitive background music in the end. Boomers can get annoying about how awesome their music is, but those oldies actually were better than what we have today from American corpos. Definitely higher production value than what Taylor Swift makes.
