Honestly, they're quite nice. If you're an autist for soft, comfy things than head to the store and grab a big one with a design you like. They're ridiculously squishy and comfortable to sleep on, and their simple, blobby shape makes them versatile if you sleep in weird positions.
It's sad that these things have been turned into female Funko Pops by Tiktok zoomers and eBay scalpers, I really do think it's worth picking one or two up to use as big, ultra-squishy pillows if you're into that kind of thing.
Yeah, I didn't really realize that either until seeing them fill up the consoomer thread here. They really are the new Beanie Baby in many ways, and it's that kind of stigma that's put me off of them. After reading through this thread though, it's nice to know I'm not the only autist here with an affinity for super soft things.I didn't know they were trendy until I saw a sign in Five Below saying people were limited to three Squishmallows each. Before that I assumed they were mainly meant for five year olds since I'm old enough to remember Pillow People and assumed they were the modern equivalent.
My nephew (3) loves stuffed toys, but with his younger brother (6 mos) playing with him, I always preferred to get him Squishables. They tend to be smaller, firmer, and had more unique designs, which makes them a little safer and easier for baby brother to play along. The little mini ones are always on sale (<$10) at my local bigbox store.Have any of you seen 'Puffies' and 'Squishables'? They're lines of soft toys heavily borrowing on Squishmallow designs. In Australia the stores have gone absolutely batshit over the things. Squishmallows have been relgated to out of the way bins, and there are shelves upon shelves of Puffies and Squishables. When I tried to go toyshopping for a young female relative, the girls' toy sections of both Kmart and Target had been absolutely gutted to make room for them.
Pretty much what I was thinking too. They're cute, but pretty basic. I like plushies more than someone of my age should but Sqiushmallows are just variations of the same eggshaped body. It feels soulless and mass produced.
That being said I'm not gonna shit on someone for liking them in particular. That's just my thoughts about it. I always respect another fellow plushie lover.
I thought Funko Pops were Funko Pops for women. It's funko pops for women.
The plague doctor is cute. I like him. He's cute.
That’s not a plague doctor, that’s the Rabbi on his way to transfer his sins to the village water supply….View attachment 3950637
His lantern glows in the dark!
I couldn't resist this little guy last week. I lost my elderly Siamese cat earlier this year and every time I saw it at the store I thought of her. I got the last one they had. He lives on the recliner the cats use and I love him. He's the only one I plan on getting.
