What game did you finish today?

Doom 2016 because i wanted to do it faster than Korone, but not in normal but in Hard

Doom 2016 is a weird thing because the game become more easier the more you progress on it, when you have all the guns you are covered for more situations, the boss battles are terribly easy and everything can be solved with a Gauss cannon shot on the head, it become more easy when you have the rune that make every enemy drop shields and the one that stagger them more easily for glory kills

Shotgun: stick to the triple shot, the pseudo grenade thing is awful and you already have grenades in your arsenal you don't need that upgrade

Plasma rifle: both upgrades are ok but the stun grenade get very useless later unless you upgrade it and even then the stun doesn't last to long, the heat wave in the other hand is good for keep shooting and erasing imps that are the things that are probably going to kill you in most cases

Heavy assault rifle: stick to the rockets, you are not going to snipe here unless you want to see a Cacodemon shooting like crazy because you blowed its eye but you can do the same with the Gauss

RACKETA RAUNCHER: stick to the guided missiles, in the end of the day is more useful that just making the rockets explode in midair, the reason is that you are going to mostly use it to defeat big enemies like Mancubus and Barons of Hell

Gauss Cannon: the tool you have to master to deal with big enemies, both of the mods are fine, the siege mode is good vs mancubus both red and green and the precision aim is perfect to do headshots and make them stagger quickly the only thing is that its rate of fire dont let you spam it because you have to be constantly in the move

Super shotgun: this thing is overkill for not big enemies, it also let you destroy or staggers Specters and Pinkies, maxed is almost as good as the gauss in killing big enemies

Chainsaw: doesn't have upgrades and later in the game you will not need it but is good to deal with specially annoying demons in my case the Summoner

Still a fun game cant wait until my horrible internet let me play Eternal

Finally got all emblems for MGS 4, and the platinum, that signaled the end of this weird experience with the game.

After 8 playthoughs for plat... Yeah act 3 can go and die in a greasefire.

On to my next unplatinumed game for the PS 3, The Darkness 2.

Carrion.

Reverse horror game that's like a Metroidvania but very linear (like Fusion). And it's on Steam and Xbox as well. Great game.

Same here. Ran me about 5 hours to 100%, if any of you consider that too short for $20.

I'm hoping the dev creates a level editor like he did for Butcher. I think it uses the same engine as that one. Butcher is worth checking out too:

Had a brief play since it's on Game Pass, not used to the controls yet and stopped at a part where I couldn't see where to go next (toxic waste dump or something similar), but definitely looks interesting.

I've also completed a second season of F1 2018, a sport I haven't followed since the late 90's, played purely on a whim because it was a Game Pass quest, and just found myself keeping on playing.

Yeah, overworld navigation can be a bit of a pain, and that area's one of the worst.
Directions:
Since you saw that message, that means you just came out of the Uranium Mine. What you're going to want to do is loop around back and into the Military Junkyard, where the ability you picked up in the mine will let you proceed.

I too beat Carrion today. Damn fine game. Usually I'll beat a game and set it aside for awhile, but this one I'm replaying because holy shit it's fun and satisfying.

I beat Castlevania: Symphony of the Night. Absolute Kino ending and credits. Shortly after I saw this in chat.

So I finished Ys V: Lost Kefin, Kingdom of Sand. I liked it. Although the magic system is pretty bad. It's borderline useless save for the first spell you get and excruciatingly slow screen filling spells that are only useful when you need to kill everything on a screen. The game is pretty. Adol is a tad stiff but it wasn't an issue most of the time. I liked that you could customise Adol's appearance any time you wanted.

Maybe it's silly to nitpick. But they are wandering around the ground floor of the Kefin ruins. They are friendly monsters and you can talk to them. They warn you about the lower floors and say they are waiting for the people of Kefin to return.

But when you get to the Kefin that was taken to another dimension none of the citizens ever mention the kobolds. These creatures are, as far as I can tell, never brought up again. Are they pets or servants? Forgotten homuculi? I felt sorry for them since they seem to be waiting for people who don't even give them a second thought.

Also, where do the people of Kefin go after you save them? Back to the past? Or do they just appear in the ruins? I don't think you see any of them besides Niena but that's different I guess.

After that I emulated the PSP version of Ys VI. I have the PS2 version but my PS2 had been stolen. An I think I have the PC version on Steam but my PC died. So I was stuck with the bad port. It's glitchy with the jumping, has epic slowdown and various other issues. But it is still playable. It's not too awful really. I have played far worse.

A rehash of Mask of the Sun. I guess it does make some sense in terms of lore. But Ernst is just trying to do exactly what Eldeel did. The only difference is that Ernst is human. But the whole "use dangerous artifact to revive the power of an ancient civilization because muh lineage".

Ernst was pretty easy but I was over leveled maybe? Honestly, If I were Ernst I would have quit after I got the cool black wings. But he's a jerk so...

I wish I could have left Geis and those fairies to die in the black ark.

I had played Ys Seven when it came out and Geis and his fairies are in it. I didn't like him in that game either. Geis has got to be the worst character in the series besides his child stealing brother and that Dorman idiot. He is such a jerk and I want to punch that little tranny looking fish fairy in the face thoughout both games. What a bitch.

I seriously thought Xisa was male for awhile in Ys VI. I guess she is sort of like a Zora but with less bumpz.

God I'm problematic.

I am playing Oath in Felghana now. I played the Genesis and SNES versions. I have the actual PSP disc but I don't have my PSP with me and it needs a battery. So I just emulated it.

Is this the game where they used the fan translation by that massive sperg who had a meltdown when they wouldn't credit him for his hacking software?

Just finished Titanfall 2's campaign for the first time. That was excellent, 343i could learn a thing or two from Respawn about making a fun story mode.

After 140 hours I have finally finished Persona 5 Royal. That was worth it

I beat Final Fantasy Adventure last night, it's one of three games included in Collection of Mana for the Switch so I'm looking forward to playing Secret of Mana next.
I liked the game a lot, I thought that the bosses all looked pretty cool and the music has that older-game charm.
There's a few complaints that I have and mostly they relate to the in game map being really terrible. I gained a crapload of levels just by wandering around lost wondering where the fuck I was supposed to go. This is the world map:

New games have me spoiled with their labeled locations and visable landmarks. This game says "just figure it out, crybaby. You should be thankful you even got a map."

Just beat Ion Fury a little while ago. Really enjoyed it and was actually surprised with the length. All the guns were fun to use and the levels were varied enough and well designed.

Maybe I'm just a fag, but I didn't like the cryptic nature of the secrets. Felt like a large number of them needed you to look them online. The mega secrets are especially annoying. I think it could be a good subject for debate. How secret do you like your secrets?
