What game did you finish today?

Beat Starbound and Furi. Starbound was incredibly mediocre despite containing a bunch of ideas that should have clicked with me. Sci-fi game with medieval robots, religious birds, cowboy gas beings, plant cannibals, and 1984 monkeys set on volcanic planets, planets that are pitch black, planets that have eyeball biomes, etc etc. All these cool fucking ideas gone to waste because it was all poorly executed. I want to find the person who was in charge of designing the quests and shoot them because they just are not fun.

And then there's Furi which is a brilliant fucking gem of a game that I'm having an incredible time with. It's fast, it's stylish as hell, it's got a 10/10 soundtrack, and the gameplay is intense. Excellent boss design + bullet hell elements + satisfying hack-and-slash = fucking Furi man. I cannot praise this game enough, such a breath of fresh air from the mediocre crap I've been playing recently.

I beat pokemon yellow today. It was ok, but replaying it as an adult has made me realize how incredibly broken and easy everything is.

I finished Assassin's Creed Rogue. I was pleasantly suprised by its overall quality, considering it came out simultaneously with Unity (complete abortion), is basically a refined clone of Black Flag (blandly enjoyable but terrible campaign), and directly incorporates characters, plot points, and locations from AC3 (maybe the second-worst ultra-big budget game I've ever played after Resident Evil 6).

Momodora: Reverie Under the Moonlight

I finally finished Zero Time Dilemma. The fucking snail is the best antagonist of all time. Let's give it up for the snail everybody! He has a bigger kill count than any other villain.

Finished Wolfenstein: The New Order. Honestly wished the game didn't end with Blazkowicz trying to kill Deathshed with a knife (it ended up being a trap) but still, it was fun killing Nazi scum in a future where Nazi's ruled the world.

Man, starbound is funny in that it was supposed to be the spirtual successor to Terraria, then Terraria started updating again out of the blue years later, so Terraria became the spiritual successor to Terraria.

I've recently beat RE4, I honestly treated it more like an action TPS game rather than a survival horror one.

Finished Yakuza 5 today, it was really freaking good, and would recommend it to anyone who's a PS Plus member since it's one of August's free games.

This comment isn't about me, but my friend just finished Half-Life 2 for the first time. Very proud of him! :)

I fucking love Half-Life 2, and this is a really good friend of mine, so to see this happen is great!

The same friend also helped me with Half-Life 1, and thats why I'll have fond memories of HL1 for a long time.

Finished Deus Ex and Deus Ex: Human Revolution very recently. Both were equally flawed in my eyes and I don't get the extreme passion people have for either titles. Not that they were bad games, they just weren't the exceptional masterpieces that I heard they were. I liked HR more probably because it was stylistically more in-tune with what I like in Cyberpunk and it's flaws were easier to accept most of the time than Deus Ex's.
Got Mankind Divided preordered because I love me some Cyberpunk and both of the Deus Ex games were surprisingly long so it should keep me entertained for a decent amount of time. Hopefully it's story is more coherent than HR's though, that games story was pretty hilarious sometimes.
Adam Jensen: Okay Barrett I defeated you, now you must tell me where your Augmented mercenary friends are.
Barrett: Why should I do that though? I'm on the brink of death, you don't know where they are, and are fucked if I don't tell you shit.
Jensen: The plot demands it and I asked nicely.
Barrett: Okay they're in Hengsha in China, please don't ruin our plans.

Adam Jensen: Hugh Darrow, why did you distribute updated Biochips to the population so you could send out a signal that will make every Aug with the new Biochip turn violent and insane?
Hugh Darrow: NOBODY UNDERSTANDS ME I'M TRYING TO TEACH MORALITY BY MURDERING MILLIONS ALSO BECAUSE I CAN'T GET AUGMENTED AND IF I CAN'T GET AUGMENTED THEN NOBODY CAN

Pacifist Adam Jensen: Okay so this one button blows up Panchea why would I want to do that and cause the deaths of thousands of people?
Eliza Cassan: DON'T SPIN THE NEWS IT'S BAD

Really curious how Mankind Divided is going to retcon that shitty ending HR had. Will be fun to check out.

I finished Neo Contra today. I can't think of any game that has more :autism: than this, I mean holy shit!
Beautiful! :heart-full:

I beat Mega Man 7, 8 and X4 in the past few days, all for the first time. 7 is irredeemably bad, 8 is mediocre but not quite as terrible as people make it out to be, and X4 is the best MMX game by far. It's even worth beating twice, once as X and once as Zero, since they play so differently.

Finally completed Dark Souls 3 with the Firekeeper ending. Soul of Cinder was tough but not as a bad as Lorian and Lothric nor was Soul of Cinder as aggressive as Champion Gundyr. For a final entry in the series, Dark Souls 3 wasn't too bad.

Just completed the main story of Lords of Shadow. The scenery really is phenomenal — I'm definitely getting the artbook.

EDIT: And I just finished the DLCs. Reverie was okay, Resurrection absolute shite. It's the worst features of the main game in one tiny little package.

Just beat Dragon Warrior(Dragon Quest)7, the PS1 version. Anyone that's planning to buy 3DS remake next month, just know that you're in for the long haul, I got 170 hours on it and that's just the main story alone.

Gone Home: Console Edition. I was disappointed when I found out it wasn't a Horror title, but it me made feelsy with the story.

Tropico 5, enjoyed it as I have with all the other Tropico games but getting high satisfaction with every faction was a right pain in the arse this time.

Grand Theft Auto V. Went with option C and killed everyone. Rather fun gunfight's the final mission had, both in the first part and during the final stretch when having Trevor infiltrate the home of Westin.

BioShock 2 with the good ending. This was actually my third attempt at beating it. I play on PC and used the keyboard and mouse on previous attempts, but found it too frustrating. It's much better with a game pad.
