What game do you wish Phil would play? - AKA best future TIHYDP material?

Since Phil has a Gamecube now, it wpuld be mildly humorous to see him play Skies of Arcadia just to hear him bitch and moan about the ship battles. That and the game is piss easy so it would be interesting to see how Phil would fuck it up.

Not to mention that it's very difficult to flee from normal battles in that game. The Toxic Flies (? fuzzy about their name, haven't played Skies of Arcadia in years) would cause so much salt.

Been years for me, too. But I rarely ran in that game. Low level red magic, Aika's Lambda Burst, and Vyse's Rain of Swords are all decent crowd control in their respective sections of the game.

But that would require some level of strategy on Phil's part.

:late:So Phil has a Gamecube... interesting.

I would say Metal Gear Solid: Twin Snakes. He might do a redemption run of MGS in the future, maybe the GC version or PS1 version. The only problem is the game is very expensive, some paypig might donate it to him I guess.

Pokemon Colosseum and Ocarina of Time: Master Quest would be interesting, chat won't hold his hand during these games.

Guilty Gear. Considering how he fucks up basic things in all the other 2d fighters, the sheer insanity that would come with him trying the hardest one is a funny thought. He’d also fail even harder due to the smaller playerbase that doesn’t fuck around. He won’t play it though. It’s a niche game in an even more niche genre. I’d also be interested in how he’d mess up Soul Calibur 6 when it comes out.

God Hand, that game will make him use all of his excuses in one playthrough and since he's doing patreon choice soon, the stars are aligned

Maniac Mansion for NES. With zero asspats. 25 minutes of trying to navigate that glorious game, operating solely on his own intellect he would put up a tarp & blow his brains out live on stream.

Steel Battalion would be fun just to see if he could work the controls.

The Drakengard series would peak my interest. I don't think he's played it and it's so weird he might genuinely enjoy it.

Oh, I bet he'd loathe it. He'd play the entire thing with nothing but the base weapon and never do any of the unlocks, and wonder why he can't kill the later, much stronger enemies before they slice him into kibble. And the salt when the magic-reflecting red enemies show up would be fucking glorious. (Note: I only played the first Drakengard game, and I loved it...but then, that's just me.)

The Total War games.

Things he will most likely do:

-Charging archers/light infantry into heavy infantry/cavalry
-Charging cavalry (especially the general unit) into spearmen
-Ignoring the advisor NPC's advise, or complaining that they are bothering him because he didn't know there is a "No Advise" setting
-Losing most of his army attacking a bridge/defending a bridge
-Losing units during a siege because he didn't realize the enemy arrow towers were plinking away at those units
-For the older games, not realizing there is a "retrain" option that replenishes a unit, and then wondering why his units are not at full strength
-Making poor decisions when I comes to recruitment and building management
-Losing territories because he doesn't bother to put a sizeable garrison/defense
-Save scum
- If he plays Shogun 2, not know what Realm Divide does (and ragequit when he finds out)

Seeing as how it's regarded as the easiest game Ubisoft ever made, I'd love to see him have a go at Prince of Persia (2008). Somehow I feel like he'd still manage to fuck up a game where you literally CANNOT die.

I know for a fact Phil has done videos of Mega Man 1-6 and 10, but did he ever touch 9? That's usually considered one of the hardest Classic games, imagine the salt he'd have over the difficulty spikes throughout the regular stages, let alone Wily's Fortress. The final bosses in 7 and 8 would probably trip him up, too.

If he ever does a solo Peace Walker run (it recently became backwards compatible on Xbox One), I guarantee that he'd rage quit during one of the tank fights.

He already played 3, and not only did he rage quit the game, but he said it was the second worst game he ever played (First being Conduit 2). I have never played a single Drakengard game myself and I haven't seen the THIYDP in a while, so I don't know if what American Lollinator says is correct or not, but I do remember him criticizing the game for making a bunch of sex jokes (Not hypocritical at all), lack of checkpoints, and horrible frame rate (To be fair, the frame rate was actuary horrible during some of the times he complained about it).

Here is the THIYDP:
