What game do you wish Phil would play? - AKA best future TIHYDP material?

I'd like to see Phil play Overlord. Watching him struggle to control his minion hordes would be hilarious, and plainly expose how terrible he is at playing video games. Plus watching him get wrecked by this early boss like 100 times would be hilarious.

Would like to see him trying to play War Thunder or World of Tanks. He'd probably realize pretty quick that he can't react fast enough to be anywhere near the front and try to snipe, only to fail at that cause I doubt he can lead a shot.

"I wanna be the Guy" fangames like "Kamilia 2/3" or "Crimson Needle". He'd never be able to even make it past some of the first screens before rage quitting and blaming the game mechanics for his failures. I think he'd also have a really hard time with Gothic 1 and 2, especially because you actually need to pay attention to what people are saying in those games, there are no quest markers or highly detailed maps and the combat can be tough if you don't bother to learn its nuances.

Id honestly love to see what would happen if you dropped him into an MMO, even one made for kids. Just the facts that those require teamwork and strategy would mean Phil would either have his ass carried through everything by other man children or try to run through every mission alone and then blame the game for his inevitable thrashing.

if im right during one of his indiethons he did play "i wanna be the guy" a better suggestion would be "i wanna be the boshy"

Come to think of it, I would actually enjoy watching Phil play Destroy All Humans and Destroy All Humans 2. I mean the game has an Anal Probe weapon that I'm sure he would be oddly fascinated with. . .for some reason ;)

Genpei Toumaden, it makes you play an extra annoying level each time you die, and you can't beat the final boss without having specific things.

I guess it's possible you are dyslexic, but if you would please address your eyes back to my original comment in which I exactly specified an "I wanna be the Guy" FANGAME, such as "KAMILIA 2/3" or "CRIMSON NEEDLE" you may realize your error. I hope that clears up any confusion.

Crimson Needle

Xcom 2 with the DSP voice pack and long war mod.

It'd inevitably devolve into Phil complaining about the mod making the game too hard and not explaining what any of the extra weapons do...despite extra difficulty and additional customization being a big part of the LW2 appeal. Or Phil installing LW2 and trying to play it on incompatible DLCs then complaining about FireAxis being fucking idiots ACKACKACKACKACKACK

I'd also suggest Recore. I gave up in frustration after getting to a fight in an arena with no cover and holes in the floor, against 10 or so enemies who can hit you with charged attacks that take off over 50% health, and stun you long enough for the second attack to kill you, all whilst your health is being drained. So I can just imagine how Phil would react. But admittedly, this is one of those games where you can actually blame the erratic lock on and unbalanced combat for your failures.

necroing because I can

  1. DUSK - a 90's-style FPS, and nothing more. There is no OP attacks/weapons that can carry Dave through the entire game (if you don't count the soap hidden in every single level, but that A. needs to be found first B. requires a certain degree of precision for holding and throwing it), no fan(cuck)s to summon that can beat the entire game for him, it's just Phil vs a game that's not afraid to challenge you.
  2. Good ol' Terraria - it may not look like much, but I guarantee this game will rip Phil a new asshole. It's got it all: tough boss fights (that WILL require building an arena to beat some of them), dickish traps that can one-shot you (the underground's full of 'em), the potion sickness mechanic (if you drink a healing potion, you gotta wait 60 seconds before you can use another one), bosses that can just decide to spawn if certain conditions are met... The game does give you some rather powerful weapons that can carry you through certain parts, but even if you get them, you still gotta try to win. The only problem is if Phil decides to go multiplayer with a few paypigs, since they can just hook him up with endgame equipment and let him cruise through the game.

It was probably mentioned in the thread earlier, but any Shin Megami Tensei game, especially Nocturne, would be a guaranteed ragequit even with stream chat help. It also helps that they're super-long JRPGs that he probably won't get the storyline of at all. The only way he'd ever get through is grinding and patience, one thing he won't do and another thing he doesn't have. With Nocturne, I'd guarantee at least one controller slam before he quits.

Make him play any sort of turn based strategy/rpg hybrid game (FF Tactics, Disgaea, Devil Survivor ect..)

Watching him attempt to utilize any sort of strategical thinking, sperg out and rage quit would be amusing.

He played Disgaea 4 and 5.He actually finished the storyline of 4, but quit 5 early on.

At this point, anything with PvP in mind. Something multiplayer, less story heavy, no dialogue reading. Nothing fucking chill.
I want him going in rapid fire shit like fighting games he's unfamiliar with(mk11) or some stuff like CoD where he can bitch non stop.

Because at this point I'm getting sick of heavy narrated stories with lots of cutscenes because he will not shut up and cannot make a funny joke in his life. I don't like hearing his so called "voice acting" at all. Anything slow paced will just be in a crawl and excuse for him to sit there and wait for people to guide him and ask him dumb fucking questions that he most likely won't answer or even respond to.

So yeah, something with multiplayer in mind. I love when he has to hastily go to his playstation party settings and making it private.

Fire Emblem. I remember him saying a long time ago that he was planning to play Fates when he was actually doing 3DS shit - he mentioned he played Awakening off camera. I don't know how likely is the chances that he would go for the new upcoming game on the Switch, but it would probably be a travesty like XCOM. He would almost certainly not play Casual mode because of the name.

Then again, it would be a drawn out, heavily cutscene/story based strategy RPG that he would probably drop because low views anyway.

I'd like to see Phil play the PS1 adventure/platformer 'Tomba' in which evil pigs are stealing the world's gold.
