What game do you wish Phil would play? - AKA best future TIHYDP material?

  • 🔧 At about Midnight EST I am going to completely fuck up the site trying to fix something.
Well that's the kind of thing I'm talking about, if they don't matter to him, then it doesn't make much sense for him to have any rules with selecting games to stream. Yet he does, and more than that, he doesn't abide by them whenever it suits him, which also doesn't make sense if the games never matter. It's even had to argue that he hides his sensitivity to certain games so that people don't try to trigger him with that knowledge, because he has no qualms about telling his audience to got fuck themselves with a cactus for requesting virtually any game under the sun, let alone one he knows is being asked for due to the trigger effect.

None of it adds up, which is bizarre even for DSP.

The lengthy-style RPG Age of Decadence would allow him to play as himself.

Any of the old Tim Schafer/LucasArts adventure games without a guide. Have you ever looked up something on a wiki or GameFAQs only to think, "how did anybody find that" or "were the programmers TRYING to mess with people"? Now imagine a game with nothing but those kinds of puzzles and way more items than you actually need to solve them, just in case you thought you could brute-force your way through the areas.

It'll be interesting and fun to see him play Mina the Hollower.

Phil should come back to play Red Dead Redemption 1 on HARDCORE difficulty.

He can't aim on Normal mode, get ready for NO AIM-ASSIST, die faster than he can blink, etc. Let the real anger come through.

Realistically he'd never do it. Even if he were to ever go back, he'd only play it on normal under his new excuse of normal being "the way it was intended to be played". At most you'd get him playing memey difficulties like FONV hardcore, where the difficulty is more resource management than damage values or enemy skill.

There's a reason CTR is considered one of the last TIHYDP materials and that's because Phil's struggles came from overconfidence. He thought he was going to get an easy kid's game when he instead got a game that required effort and skill, things he lacked as he didn't learn the game. You need to lull him into a false sense of security or not give him a lower difficulty option (like Sifu) while pushing his ego to not quit.

Most of Phil's issues with aiming are more to do with with him being almost blind, with his refusal to wear his glasses and his lack of understanding of how location based damage works. He's never aiming for headshots, instead he always seems to aim at the waists of his opponents and he never seems to understand how he's dying before his opponent.

I know he's never going to touch it, but I'm really curious to see WHY Code Vein is off-limits, and I get the feeling that watching him play it for less than five minutes would say it all.
Having watched his network test streams, there's two problems: Io's dress, Mia's outfit , Eva's dress, and the jiggle being too provocative for Phil's delicate sensibilities and that his audience didn't really care. It's DSP playing a Souls-like that he didn't rage and fail horribly at. In terms of play, he was at the low end of average for Code Vein. Not raging, but also not doing particularly well either.
