What game do you wish Phil would play? - AKA best future TIHYDP material?

I actually wish Phil played some old school Pokemon Games. He never will unless a paypig tips him his life savings, but it would be a complete joke to see him trying gen 3/4 games or one of the Pokemon Mystery Dungeon games. Phil's only played nu-pokemon games, so he'd have no idea how anything works and would probably rage quit. I'd also like to see him try Diablo 3.

Scavengers Rani and Beck arrive on an alien planet to gather resources and alien plants, but discover that the planet is corrupted by a black slime-like substance named the Gunk. While Rani plans to save the planet from the gunk, mistrust starts to fester between the two friends.

I was going to say "No one lives under the lighthouse", but then I thought about it and realized that 'fun' and 'immersion' are his kryptonite. Plus, he would probably bitch and moan over how short it is.

just started playing monkeyball for first time. I haven't watched phil's playthrough but did he use the baby assist feature? Some of these levels are pretty tough so I am curious how phil did.

OK I am up to world 7. I think he will beat the current level he is on but it will take him a bit. He will probably struggle on 7-2 and 6-6. The current level he is on is tough but not impossible. You really have to focus though cause it's a long curved skinny type of platform.

In light of some of the recent new releases, either Super Metroid or Diablo I.

If Phil thinks anything short of handholding is "cryptic" he will be eaten alive in Super Metroid: the game expects the player to scan every wall and revisit every area, and even with the mid/late game equipment there are very few shortcuts to speed things up. Then there are the (at least to me) finicky inputs for wall jumps and Shinespark. The only saving grace is that the bosses are all fairly easy.

If Super Metroid is cryptic then Diablo I is Phil's other favorite word, "archaic". I played 2 before 1 and 1 just has not aged well: The skill tree and items are much less complex than DII but the weird UI and spell system somehow make the overall game more complicated and difficult to understand. Then there are things which double the fun like permanent stat loss.

I wish Phil would play Final Fantasy 14. He would totally not understand what to do and would be so scared of trolls. Any MMO would be fun to watch but, we all know he won't because Phil is scared of other people.

since another Halloween marathon went without it, I'd like to see twisted metal 2 or black someday due to the difficulty being way above that of the old ps3 reboot (which he still raged at) mostly black since he would likely have somebody hand him passwords for 2 (every character has one for each level).

An older adventure game like 7th Guest with no help from stream chat. Some of those puzzles are fucking nonsense that practically require a guide to figure out. Stream chat's damaged his watchability more than any other thing for this exact reason. The only entertainment Phil used to offer was getting stuck for 30 mins in Black Mesa because he couldn't figure out how to crouch jump. If that happened to current Phil, someone would tip $5 saying to crouch jump and that would be that.

I think someone is feeding him the answers during his monkeyball streams or he's researching beforehand. Level 6-9 is a puzzle you wouldn't know unless you've played it before. I had to look it up. On his stream DSP went right near the answer right away. There 5 rows of switches he goes right near the answer to the left instead of elsewhere very sketchy.

Did he ever comment about Melty Blood: Type Lumina?
There obviously is no chance that he would play it, another fighting game he refuses to play because fighting games peaked at SF2T.

I wish DSP would play all of the major upcoming games this Fall/Winter - and I know he'll play at least a few of these so I'm actually pretty excited for the Hardcore Gaming Season™️

If you're like me and you absolutely love watching Phil attempt to use a car then both Forza Horizon 5 and GTA: Trilogy are coming out next month; the former is sure to be a short but enjoyable playthrough (as Phil will likely drop it) and the latter marks a redo of some of his most embarrassingly bad playthroughs. I don't know how many of the GTA games he'll play but those playthroughs are some of my favorites so I'm optimistic.

Call of Duty Vanguard, Battlefield 2042, and Halo Infinite are also sure to be good ones. Watching Phil play any competitive shooter is always a treat and we're spoiled this year with three major series getting new entries - all of which Phil is sure to play the multiplayer for. The betas and tests for these games have already shown that we're in for some good content.

As far as RPGs go, we've got both SMTV and Pokemon. I know he probably won't play SMTV but I do wish he would. The Persona playthroughs were bad enough so I can't imagine how he would do in a mainline SMT game. I'm sure SMTV will be more accessible than others in the series, but like always I'm sure that Phil will find a way to surprise me. Pokemon on the other hand I'm more confident he'll play, and those playthroughs are also fantastic. Watching a grown man with half a dozen Pokemon games under his belt suck and fail at yet another one is always fun. Like a lot of first party Nintendo games, it's always a good time watching Phil struggle to understand a game that children can beat easily.

I just hope that there are some of you here that also recognize how good the upcoming season of DSP is likely to be gameplay-wise, as I am fairly excited.
