What Have You Cooked Recently?

I know this is going to come out sounding really lame, but your knife is pretty fucking fancy looking.

Made home made chicken soup last night.
Finally took all those chicken bones I've saved up in the freezer out.
Let those babies boil in some seasoned water for about two hours, drained them, then added the veggies, chicken and egg noodles.
Came out great.
Used chicken thighs instead of breast because they have a bit more flavor, if a bit tougher.
thanks that actually sounds more liker a compliment than anything. I've got two dishes left then it's back to cans of soup till payday at least (don't wanna dip into my stim money too much) expect either red beans and rice OR Jambalaya tomorrow. I still wanna try my hand at making gumbo but that takes 3 hours to cook, then blackened redfish or frying catfish next time to make a po boy sandwich. There's a whole plethora of Louisiana foods left to try my hand at making, anyone got any other suggestions? OR suggestions for other southern dishes?

That kvass starter to make white borscht! Might look into making that myself I think.

I'll likely get flack for this but a ham brined in cola and finished in a cola, mustard, clove reduction is as tasty as it is trashy. Bless the thicc cocaine fiend nigella lawson.
These are raw foods to be blessed by a priest before preparation. Later utilized in the meal, and throughout the year. Because if any of it goes to waste, it is a sin. Thats why the staples are in there. Love you guys, but I'm looking for what's missing in the traditional basket.
E- No I'm not Catholic, but my grandparents were, and tradition is a nice thing to hold.

Do you have shrimp? Do you have grits? Together, they make a powerful combo.

Celebrating the spring equinox with chicken noodle soup and homemade bread. I make chicken noodle the lazy way by just buying a pre-cooked rotisserie chicken and shredding it. I've done it the proper way where you boil the whole chicken and make your own stock, but I wasn't feeling patient enough today! It still turned out very good in the end.
I had some issues with my bread dough being too sticky but the finished result was still tasty.

Not wanting to buy a bread maker, but also not wanting to knead dough all the time, I recently started throwing all the ingredients into a food processor and running it for maybe 2 minutes. Excellent results and frees up a bunch of time and effort for other parts of meals

Made a spinach and feta flatbread pizza last night. It was actually really easy too:

1. Sautee some spinach and garlic in oil for a couple minutes (more if you like it crispy)
2. Toss that with crumbled feta and thin sliced tomatoes onto some pita or naan bread
3. Drizzle with oil and oregano and bake for about 10 minutes at 450 F

In my quest to make southern /New Orleans food I present to you all the holy grail of Louisiana cookin gumbo

I made it with a little bit of everything; shrimp, sausage, crab, chicken and plenty of hot peppers. It turned out OK but there's something that got burned at the bottom of the pot, possibly the base or bourx used to form the base.
