What have you recently eaten?

The weather was perfect again so I grilled some burgers and they came out great since I had some time to kill as grill heated I made a little fixing bar for just me and mrs it kinda made it fun.

But I was so giddy I made the mistake of buying corn and too early for local. That was a regret it tasted nothing like anything and I assumed wouldn't be great so I got bi color for some flavor. Just bland.

Mini potatoes that were baked/boiled from last night. They (mostly) survived the microwaving process and besides two out of the nine, they were really goddamn good. Only needed some salt and pepper.

That reminds me, I haven't made salt potatoes in ages.

Pasta ( specifically Penne ) with diced tomatoes, cream sauce, basil, and some grounded red pepper. The sauce turns into a nice light, orange color from the amount of tomatoes used. Considering how much sauce there is, I have a feeling it can be a good soup too...

Neat.
I've been tossing salsa in my cream sauces sometimes.

Just finished up a few frozen burger patties, pepper/salt/paprika done in a pan with some onions, threw some shredded cheddar on and put a lid on to sit for a bit, had them on a pile of spinach with a 22oz Heineken.

Went down nice with a shitty old 80s movie about killer scarecrows who were zombies or something followed up by some Japanese QVC.

My work had provided us lunch and had some Jerk Chicken, it was darn good but mild as hell. So I'm on a quest to make my own, if it comes out well I'll post a how too.

Be forewarned, I'm a decent cook and like spicy food, but end of the day, it's a white man trying to make jerk sauce.

/pol/lack neighbor made some dank af lamb leg, I made potatoes and carrots.

Really good, rosemary and red onion stuffing in the lamb.

Homemade tacos for the first time in about a year. The chicken variant was so much better than the beef one I was sad it was more of an experiment, since it meant there was only enough for three split among the family.

Salad with 1 avocado, sliced and chicken filet strips. Seasoned with some apple cider vinegar, salt and pepper, pretty tasty.

Leftover beef and pork ragu with tagliatelle. There's something empowering in having put most of your efforts into the original cook, and for the leftovers it's all about execution to produce something that says "nice meal" and not "throw in a pan and heated up".

Add pasta to pan of very shallow boiling water for few mins, drain and reserve water, re-add pasta still at high heat with salt and pepper, spoon-in reserved starch water constantly stirring so it doesn't stick, continue to spoon in water every time pan starts to go dry for a couple of minutes. Add the (previously re-heated) sauce and a couple more spoons of starch water, keep stirring a bunch and when thick and combined take off heat, add grated parmesan/romano combination, chopped basil, then a little olive oil, and make some kind of visually appealing heap on plate.

Not sure why I ran into a semi-recipe there, I'm just happy with how well this went. Usually when I follow this process it goes fine, but today it was better than usual. I think dried tagliatelle may be what made the sauce so happy, as it appears to be much more starchy than most other dried pastas, and far more than fresh.

A burger from Wendy's. I wanted the Summer salad but 7 bucks is too much for a fast food salad tbh.

Sesame green beans from the garden.

Preheat oven to 500, wash and snip the ends off the beans. Toss them in a couple teaspoons of olive oil and roast for ten minutes. Flip them in the middle.

After the flip, dump a couple teaspoons of sesame seeds in a dry hot skillet and toast them on medium until they're light brown. If any pop, they're about done and will be overdone in seconds.

Take out the beans, toss them in toasted sesame oil and the toasted seeds, add salt and pepper to taste.

Goes with anything. I ate it with something.

Made some burgers. This one has grilled poblano, avocado and bacon. I would have grilled an onion to but somehow the one I got was fine on the outside but rotten inside.
