What have you recently eaten?

Beef and barley soup, with lots of carrots, onion, garlic, Baby Bella mushrooms, celery, sage, rosemary, thyme, pepper, and chicken stock. I used a lot of red wine, and a splash of fish sauce at the end for some depth and extra richness.

We recently got these neat little vacuum-sealed locally-raised Angus beef steaks at my local store and I've been buying fridgefuls of them each time I go grocery shopping. So far I've only had the ribeye ones, but I bought some striploins this time around as well.

Lately I've been eating a lot of medium-rare steak and getting used to my cast iron grill pan.

Next time I cook steak, I'll try making a bleu cheese sauce for it as well.

I ate some gherkins out of the jar.

Oh, and a plum too.

I marinated a 2lbs T-Bone steak for 3 days then pan fried it to medium-rare. I ate half of it with a side of green beans. The marinade tenderized the meat to the point where you could rip it under its own weight before cooking it. AUGH YEAH

Lastnight for dinner the wife and I made risotto topped with sauteed Collard greens cooked in dijon and butter with a grilled porkchop served over top. it was legit

Peeps.

They have a coconut kind dipped in dark chocolate and they are surprisingly top-shelf gourmet level compared to the regular or special flavor peeps. The gross normal peeps have a special place in my heart ( and one or two arteries) tho.
