What have you recently eaten?

Had chicken wonton ramen yesterday while eating out with friends... now I know I don’t like chicken wontons. Thinking of the weird-ass taste makes me nauseous.

Grilled cheese here myself, pumpernickle bagel, swiss and cheddar.

I've grown fond of applying the mustard before cooking, used a spicy brown for this. Also since I pour it on everything fresh ground black tellcherry pepper.

Working from home today has it's perks :)
 
Straw/Rasberry Mini donuts to keep me awake. Wasn't cheap on the jelly like some donut makers do. So they lucky I'm happy right now.

Inspired by the ancient roman Garum sauce* and continuing my efforts to add more fermented foods to my diet, I have started experimenting with adding a glug of Nam Pla** in my recipes. Yesterday I used it in my Jumbalaya-lentil abomination and while initially it smelled a bit off, once fully cooked it really worked wonders with the other flavours.

Will probably use in the next pizza sauce I make.

* Fermented/Rotting fish allowed to disintegrate in vats filled with salt and then filtered. Was one of the main staples of roman cuisine and a universally beloved staple of both nobility and commoner alike
** One of the closest modern equivilents and uses the same fish as many Garum sauces did
 
A bit of yellow cake with strawberry filling. Also an onion ring.
