Containment What If?

What if Chris never got into the things typically associated with autism, like pokemon, sonic, and mlp? Imagine an alternate reality where high school Chris got into things like Warhammer 40k, Doom, things like CRPGs and RTSs, more adult-oriented anime, ect.

So if he got into things 4chan incels like instead of tumblr trannies? He'd be a neckbeard and probably an unironic Nazi.

How would've Chris turned out if he had taken the marketing classes at PVCC, had bob not redirected him to CADD instead? I know Chris obviously had shit tier social skills even back then and would have still failed, but i feel through trial and error at least it would have pushed him a bit to even bother actively experimenting with social interaction. At least moreso than CADD where he would feel at home sitting in front of a computer and drawing.

More or less the same. I'm assuming he could use it to promote Sonichu better, but odds are, his ego would get in the way. If he would would use marketing skills in other areas of business, Chris would shoehorn Sonichu in in some way. Look at CADD: all Chris did with it was make a mall for CWCville.

Even if Chris had pursued a more marketable degree he'd still be sitting around in the garbage dump he calls a house coming up with lame excuses why he doesn't have a real job. Part of College is networking and finding ways to get work experience, from what I've read about Chris he spent all his free time outside of class and homework drawing Sonichu, playing video games, and sitting around in stores with a sign asking women to date him then after college did absolutely nothing to do anything of value with his degree. He didn't look for internships or work a part-time job or even join any clubs relevant to his degree or hobbies he just blissfully ignored humanity unless they had a vagina he wanted to stick his duck into. My gaming buddy from college his girlfriend has a degree in IT but shes doing customer service calls and squatting in her parents basement because she didn't network well and is a socially awkward weirdo no one would hire. Chris would turn out the same way even with a better degree just because hes lazy and makes no effort to socialize outside of conventions and card shops.

Yup. Not just the autism and awkward/slimy vibe, but also the unbelievable entitlement he demonstrates makes Chris unemployable.

In this market, even intelligent, educated and attractive people have to work twice as hard to find a decent job should they be at all weird in any perceptible way, with the possible exception of working at Hot Topic, and that doesn't pay well. I don't even have to state that HT would not hire Chris (duh).

Your friend's girlfriend should try checking around to see if there's a local employer that's known to hire the freaks and weirdos. There are companies like that here and there. They tend to pay a bit less, but if you do good work they'll overlook employees' oddball personalities.

Is marketing a good degree?

Is marketing a good degree?
I'll tentatively say yes, because I see a high demand for it in job listings.

However, think about Chris's marketing attempts. Homebrew video game ads and Axe ads... I don't believe it would go over very well. "Hey, boys, getchu (lol) some Axe! Scentally delicious! Women will orbit your belt!

For an associate's degree, assuming that's the highest education one is going to pursue, no. In that scenario, it's probably best to get an associate's in something revolving around a specific set of skills (IT, x-ray technician, CADD, etc). No one looking for a PR/marketing person is going to hire someone with only an associate's, unless they've got a ton of experience in the field or there's a lot of nepotism involved. Those types of associates degrees are honestly borderline worthless.

What if Opl was unblocked from that game store?
What if he insults a Vietnam War Veteran?
If Chris was let back into either the Game Place or End Games Hell would freeze over. Hypothetically if it did happen all the patrons would ignore him the best they could, only interacting with Chris if they absolutely had to.

Whoa so Chris actually did the smart thing for once in his life? Too bad he didn't capitalize on it.
Bob could have also been hoping that his son would use Community College as a stepping stone to a real college where Chris could get an actual Bachelors like so many other people do, or he was so out of touch with the modern world he thought any kind of degree would be an instant ticket to success like back in his time.

How would Chris fare in supported housing like Jacob Sockness with support workers trying to support Chris with thinsg like groecery shopping and medical appinbtments>

It would depend on how many rules Chris had to follow to stay in the program. If his supportive housing was like a group home or he had certain rules he had to follow he COULD actually benefit from. Mentally ill, directionless, people in life need some form of structure in their lives that lets them overcome their problems. If Chris actually bought into the program he could benefit from some stability and structure in his life enough to move past the merge nonsense he keeps going on about. Or if he was too stubborn or the program too lax he could easily end up where he is today, only with a network of enablers providing him with basic necessities.

Literally nothing.

It'd be overtaken by moss and other junk, eventually being unearthed by extraterrestrial visitors millions of years from now, of which they'll assume that all humans wore medallions and worshipped strange equine relics.
