Kill himself or really do nothing since even if Chris was cured of autism, his autism isn't the main reason he is retarded as his upbringing combining with other untreated mental disorders he has.

You’re acting as if being forced to be around people for an extended period of time actually did anything for Chris’s social skills. He held a job at Wendy’s for barely a month or so and believed a co-worker “had a huge chip on her shoulder toward me” because she was trying to actually show him how to do his job properly.

I mean this feels more like a random question but it's both. His parents were horrible at raising him but some of Chris' failures were his own.
Both. His autism has kept him a permanent man baby but his elderly parents have not helped him at all with their reluctance to get him services or a positive outlet for his “creativity”. They were old and gave up parenting as soon as he was born and just assumed if he could walk and talk he would turn out ok. Barb actively hindered his independence further by being selfish and keeping him dependent on her so she wouldn’t be lonely and effectively screwed him over after she dies.
