It took Chris 5 years to get a two year degree.
Actually, it took six years if you count the year he was expelled from PVCC. And in those six years, he only completed a single project, and that was shit. There is no way he'd have been able to function in the University of Virginia. He'd have almost certainly been expelled at some point, and he'd have to deal with crippling student loan bills. There's no way :tugboat: would pay for 6 years at UVA, even if one didn't have Chris' absolute non-comprehension of the value of money.

Though we know now that she should have been disqualified from the running, and had her medal taken away and given to a more deserving mother.

Yep, there is an apparent link between women having children after forty, and increased risk of autism--as well as other problems, as well, like Down Syndrome. It turns out that, surpriiiiise! Using eggs that are passing their expiration date can yield less than satisfactory results.

So there is a very good chance that Chris may have managed to approximate normalcy had Borb been younger, since a lot of his problems stem from being autistic and having parents who knew fuck-all about how to handle that. They would still have been unbelievably shitty parents, but so were mine, and I didn't turn out so ba--

--aw shit. He's screwed no matter what.

It makes no sense why Bob's kids would be out of his life. He never seemed terribly abusive or cruel. The worst he has shown himself to be is passive unengaged and selfish, which is far from abusive. Apparently Chris even went to David, his half bro for an eye checkup!

I have heard that part of the 'tism is having parents with a few of the 'tism traits themselves, i.e Barb's social inadequacy and Bob's technological interest, and obsession with ordering and stacking records.

But yeah.. still same selfishness and likely disinterest in mental health?

They'd still be part of the greatest generation. And still shitty.
