Containment What If?

What's likely to happen to the CWCki and these boards when (if) Chris passes on? With his lifestyle I don't bet on him outliving 90% of this board's population.

We would speculate on him in retrospect or focus on some other popular 'cows.

What is Chris was secretly a giant chicken?
Chandler-Boo, what's the matter with you? Why don't you act like the other Chandlers do?
You wear a disguise to look like dumb fat guys, but you're not a man, you're a Chandler-boo

What if Chris became an architect?
The cardboard boxes he's doomed to end up in will look rather spiffy.

Will we ever even know about if/when he dies? Sure the Facebook will cease updating, but unless someone's following the Ruckersville obituary pages, we may not know for sure.

There are a few people on this forum that live within an hour's drive of Chris or know people who do. Checking up on him would be a simple matter.

I forget -some of the asspatters may have a direct line to him and would likely talk about it on Facebook when he dies.

You know, the real irony is how easily Chris could disappear if he really wanted to. Even at the height of the trolling, all he would have needed to do is stop going online, or at the very least stop using handles everyone was familiar with. Get a new yahoo, hotmail, aol or whatever e-mail account he wanted to use, and get on with your life. Now that he's more of a hermit than usual, and he's living at a rental house, it should be even easier for him to drop off the radar and start anew. But that would require actual effort on Chris' part.

Still, I suspect there will be a day when Chris does disappear, and we'll all be left wondering what the hell happened to him. He might go through a period of homelessnes, he might wind up in jail or a mental institution, he might just up and die on us. Personally, I'd like to think he'll do something better than any of those options, but every day that seems less and less likely.

I'm not sure if Anna would talk about Chris dying publicly. It's kind of a 50/50. Kim probably wouldn't. I can't think of anyone else.

So you don't think Anna or one of his other asspatters might create an online Chris memorial? I remember when MySpace and Livejournal were still popular, and they were filled with those sort of half-assed tributes to dead kids/teenagers/college students. I see nothing wrong with honoring dead friends and loved ones, but those just always seemed... so tacky, ya know?

She'd probably try to shame us with it. Almost like she's blaming us for the death, or wants us to feel extra guilty because of it. She'd probably say things like "I hope you're happy now" or "he's gone where you can't hurt him anymore".

"Anna or one of this other asspatters" There really aren't many asspatters. It's like exclusively a handful of people. Anna's the only person who might do anything like that. Anna's crazy in some ways, but she's smart enough to have realized that she can't shout down the trolls. So while it's still possible, it's pretty unlikely.

And yeah, public memorials to people online kind of annoy me, but I don't really take it too seriously because people are grieving. People don't look good grieving.

She wouldn't want to set off a flood of weens. It's unlikely she'd do that. (Even though she'd want to.)

It would require him to decide to make a psychological break with things that he feels constitute a lot of his identity, and also because he feels a need to defend these identity totems against theft and attack by the trolls, he won't abandon them willingly.

So, he could get a new account, but he'd still want to call it "Sonichu" something, and trolls would find out about it.

I could see her doing that on an account with limited access to weens. Like Chris does where he only allows people on his friends list to comment on his status updates.

Possible, but Anna's smarter than Chris. It might happen, but then we'd never hear about it. Anna's much more careful than Chris.

Well, if nothing else, Chris' recent wave of activity has shown that he's just as content to play with Lego Sonichu as he was to write the comics. Maybe even more so. Now he can just sit at home and play with physical representations of his characters, without doing any "stressful" work, and as an added bonus the trolls can't bother him or "force" him to kill Simonla.

Hate to sound a-loggy here, but that's not much of an accomplishment.
