Right so I'll go first since what inspired me to make this thread was seeing clips of James Spader portray Raymond Reddington in the Blacklist on YouTube. Definitely going to go and watch the series in full when I get the chance. But I think Spader would make a great J. Edgar Hoover.
I mean when he portrays Red, he is so calm that it's scary as shit. That "I know I can kill you and your death would mean nothing so why not comply" kind of energy. It's not even a threat, he's just saying that "hey, I've already won how about you make sure you don't lose" which is just so powerful and frightening.
I want a biopic on Hoover, getting into the dirty details. How he extorted people, ruined lives, and became so powerful even Presidents wouldn't dare to challenge him and I think that Spader, challenging the same energy he did in the Blacklist, would make it absolute kino. So what about you guys?
