What is the most realistic method for desalinization to prevent the oncoming water shortage for the US

Not clicking your links cuz fuck you. But use nuclear power to drive the process and sell the salt that comes out. We have the means to produce energy for it and the salt market already crashed when Trump was elected so who cares how much the price drops at this point?
I've been saying this for years. Hell, can't salt theoretically be used as a moderating medium in some hypothetical nuclear reactor design? It's infinite money!

You can just distill (boil water and collect the steam and let it cool into water) the water to get the salt out. If it's just salt that should be good enough.

This is just a second coming of the global warming hokes from the 1990-2000s. You need to stop taking libtard pills.

Yes, molten salt reactors are a thing. They were first investigated by the air force to make nuclear powered planes. But when you see reactor towers what you really should be thinking is that's a weapons manufacturing plant not a power station. The reason reactors are such crap is that they are factories for weapons grade enrichment not really power generation. There are these new thorium reactors coming out. These thorium reactors are designed for easy disposal and to fail closed. The fuel is put in a rector chamber that is modular and self contained. You can think of it like a battery that you short out inside of a tank of liquid and then though out the battery (berry securely) when the fuel is spent.

AFAIK they're not capable of melting down in the classic sense, but are still capable of radioactive steam explosions (or leaks, as in a tsunami or flood); especially if the reactor is catastrophically damaged.

Still, better than solar or wind; think of the birds!

Molten salt reactors don't use ocean salt retard.
