There are some of us who have been through the years of build it ourselves Linux. These days we don't use Arch because we learned that working installers and package managers are a good thing. But really, you don't use Arch if you want a computer to just work, you do it for the challenge. For the sheer exhilaration of conquering a difficult task
You are a dimwit for thinking systemd is the only option to sysv and you opinion is duly discarded.
That's because they love having slapfights every day as part of standard procedure of having Linux discussions. In reality, there are 4 or so distros that work pretty well, and a few thousand that nobody cares about. Also, sometimes one distro doesn't work because the computer it's being installed on just doesn't like it, but another distro works flawlessly. However, I would like to say that Arch has worked for me on every computer I've tried it on where the archiso boots (which is very close to all the time).I just checked the Linux thread and barring the most recent page where some guy has trouble using Arch because of Hyper-V or some shit like that, there are literally atleast 1 person complaining about a distro every single page.
Linux already has several good distros that can be used for various specialties. Also, Mac isn't based on Linux, it's a heavily customized port of FreeBSD.The day Linux will get a good distro (apart from Android and Mac OFC) is a snowball's chance in hell.
Arch really isn't THAT unstable. I've been using it for quite a while, because I like to see more of what's happening under the hood. It only needs a rare bit of manual intervention, and pacman isn't too prone to shitting itself. It still is far from suitable for normies. There are some of us who have been through the years of build it ourselves Linux. It used to be said that "Gentoo is for ricers." now it's "Arch is for ricers." Sure, if you need to learn how it all works, fine. But then when you hit the real world of Linux it has to just work(tm).
Your comparison was solely between sysv and systemd and you have only mentioned sysv and systemd:I never said that systemd is the only other option to sysv. I said that systemd was the best option by far
If your idea of proving systemd is awesome is by comparing it only to sysv that either means you have no insight into other alternatives, you think sysv is the strongest alternative (literally retarded), or that you are useless at providing a credible argument. Perhaps I was to generous in assuming the first option applied.I have used both SysV snd systemd [...] Just compare a systemd service file with the corresponding init script [...] Services can be made userspecific without using root, which is a major pain when using sysvinit.
s6.Name one better alternative.
That's a cope lmao. Dozens of posts of people just pointing out that Linux can't even Nvidia most of the time, either the WiFi gets bonked or it's slow AF.Also, sometimes one distro doesn't work because the computer it's being installed on just doesn't like it, but another distro works flawlessly.
That's because distro devs have extreme autism sometimes and don't package the NVIDIA blob that makes the card work perfectly. When WiFi doesn't work, it's because the niggers at Broadcom didn't release any documentation so the drivers have to be reverse-engineered, experimental, and thus out-of-tree. That means you have to use DKMS, and the graphical installers don't typically let you set up weird drivers and DKMS shit without heavy intervention. That's a cope lmao. Dozens of posts of people just pointing out that Linux can't even Nvidia most of the time, either the WiFi gets bonked or it's slow AF.
I guess Windows doesn't work flawlessly 100% of the time on all machines, but atleast I've yet to see any driver problem with it esp on a fresh install. Linux seems to work closer to 80% of the time as intended, it's stupid how there's a lack of standard with Linux devs.
It's funny people say this. The sum total of getting Nvidia to work has been clicking "Yes, I want the evil proprietary drivers." I had one glitch with Debian DKMS a couple years ago where it wasn't doing the module signing correctly, which would apply to any out of tree module Nvidia or not. So I had to login and sign the modules and reboot to get X to start until they fixed it.Linux can't even Nvidia most of the time

Windows works 90% of the time, Linux works 80% of the time. (In my experience, it's more of a 99/75 split.)90% time with windows or Linux 80% good

Windows is pretty safe in its user base right now, but it has been a shitshow with all the marketing suits shoehorning AI into Windows 12. (He might be stating that Windows doesn't have a hold on its users, considering his other arguments. You can see this is not true from this very thread.)windows in safe looking push user base out main sort of desk top pcs look win 12 has bit of shit show on backside of work combo lot trying ai base into every thing.

there are 162 definitions for "coc" so I can't even begin to guess what it means. Maybe code? crap?I will attempt to translate from retarded ESL schizoese to English:

I might be completely wrong about what this sperg is saying, but I tried.

CoC is generally Code Of Conduct. The stupid shit all the woke open source projects are doing.there are 162 definitions for "coc" so I can't even begin to guess what it means. Maybe code? crap?
There's nothing inherently wrong with having one, it's just that the main ones are impressively retarded.CoC is generally Code Of Conduct. The stupid shit all the woke open source projects are doing.
It's pretty simple to write one. There's nothing inherently wrong with having one, it's just that the main ones are impressively retarded.
Someone who hates people who build their party network network drivers from source or someone who has never used a wireless network.Systemd can also eviscerate your boot time in circumstances when retarded stars align (e.g. waiting for target.network before giving the user the login screen.. what deranged mind conceived of that idea?)
