This might just be bias on my part (or too obvious), but goddamn it, I can't hate the Digimon movie. I completely understand it's a poorly-stitched together mess, it's nothing but late-90s cringe thanks to executive meddling, and it reeks of Saban's signature gag dub, but there were still awesome moments the dub did right that helps give it a balance (
Our War Game pretty much having all of those great moments, but Omnimon's introduction was too damn perfect in the dub). But also, I just
have to give the dub credit in that it made the 02 movie(s) section much more entertaining and watchable than the original, even though I feel like there was a missed opportunity present in the original that was just completely erased from the dub.
The same goes for many of the Pokémon films and not just because of nostalgia purposes and that I'm a whore for Pokémon. Hell, it's not even considered a movie, but
Mewtwo Returns tried to be a proper sequel to the first film, but it was rather dull and motherfucking Mewtwo was too angsty for most of it (and hence why Dan Green couldn't really do much), and yet I can't help but like it for its concepts. But hey, it culminated in Meowth telling Mewtwo he's being a little bitch at the end becoming one of my favorite character moments in the show.
It might be nostalgia, but I will always have a soft spot for Looney Tunes: Back in Action, as silly and objectively bad as it is.
I agree. I
kinda get the hate for it and why it nearly killed interest in the franchise, but at the same time I could tell it
wanted to be Looney Tunes and be the opposite of
Space Jam (a movie was clearly '90s advertising schlock, but still fun). I will forever enjoy the art museum scene, I liked the goofy chairman of ACME, and it was amazing to see Duck Dodgers and Bugs Bunny duke it out with Marvin the Martian at the climax, but I think when it comes to the movie as a whole, they were a bit
too on the nose with the satire in
Back in Action.
