These days MMORPGS are just a shell of what they used to be. I mean, I'm glad that grinding for years isn't a part of the experience anymore in most games, but I can't shake the feeling that they lost something while removing it. Also I hate how single experience focused MMOs are these days, one player can be tank, healer, support and dps at the same time and run every dungeon alone, ever actually without talking to another person and when the rare occasion of playing with other person happens, it's with party/dungeon finder without any communication in-game because well, everyone can do everything, no need to communicate actions. I would like an open PVP MMORPG where even the trash mobs can be dangerous if you aren't ready and you actually have to go and talk to another player to form parties and get your dungeon run ready, also bring back the holy trinity of MMOs.
I understand that many players wants a solo experience in MMO, but enough is enough. The complete lack of need for communication and co-op is just stupid. Don't punish group players for getting together, let us share quests, let us find a player that can fill our own weaknesses, give us actually a reason to party, not just throw it there just because it's MMO. I hate how party system works in tera and ESO. I stopped playing when it ended up as asking if other person was already ready and what quests they have and checking all the time that someone isn't left behind.
Also there are the cash shops that are really problematic in the current day with p2w stuff everywhere. How hard is to make a cash shop that doesn't break the balance of PVP or just sell cosmetic stuff. Maplestory in the first years showed that it's completely possible to make money with cosmetics.
So, the point of this ramble is that I want MMOs to be more social again. I want a game that actually tells me "Hey, you'll get so much more out of this if you gather few friends, just go talk to someone." and not this current solo MMOs that the market is full of and rather than sell power, sell us cosmetics and make us feel unique with that.
