You haven't watched anime other than DBZ?
Oh, I have. That and Naruto were just the two most pervasive ones at that point, believe it.
:story:

They weren't the anime I liked though, I tended toward horror and sci fi, and sci fi horror.

I never follow the rules of 1 particular style, i just take what I like, combine it into 1 thing and then add my own stuff.
I've borrowed stuff from kung fu, kickboxing, ju-jitsu, taekwondo, muai thai, boxing and a few others.
Sticking to 1 style makes you predictable, not to mention it's boring.

That's called mma

Wrestled for eight years through school, trained and fought AMMY for a few years. Doing a toughman contest on the 14th between semesters because eh why not. It's been pretty fun getting back in the gym again and having a friend over for sparring in the mornings.

Well, MMA is kind of a specific thing these days.
I started doing this back in the 90's as a kid because I was inspired by kung fu movies and people like Jackie Chan jumping between styles in fight scenes, Bruce Lee's Jeet Kune Do etc.
I guess you can call it MMA, if we're labeling things.

Used to do some karate when I was a kid, but I got over it really fast. I tried to get into other far east martial arts, but they turned out to be really meh for me. My dad and older brother were boxers, when I got older, they taught me some of that, especially before I went to college. Didn't have to use any of it, but better know something than nothing, right?
