What movie did you see recently?

Watched two movies on Friday.

Steve Jobs was really good. I really liked the characterization of Steve, how he had to own up to his own faults and losses in order to redeem himself with the launch of the iMac. The movie didn't suck his cock but it didn't completely demonize him either. It was a perfect middle ground where he was depicted as a man with great ideas but limited the potential his employees offered.

Jem and the Holograms...wasn't so good. I haven't watched the original series, but I could tell that it would probably have been a lot more than this, what with all the generic cliches involving a dead father and becoming a YouTube star overnight.
The Dwayne Johnson and Rob Scallon cameos in particular were baffling given their edgier nature contrasting with the movie's target demographic of tween girls.

Thanks for describing the only three hours of the day you weren't spazzing out like a complete moron on that thread on /co/ which continues on, rapidly approaching the 500 post mark, despite your pathetic failure to get it deleted.

Congratulations on giving the studio that is making the "Barneyshit" movie your money.

So I watched the Sound of Music for the first time. I know it sound's kind of daffy but the Captain is :heart-full:

I was genuinely entertained.

He took advice from @Connor Bible and is trying to deflect from his own sperginess by acting like he's one of us.

It's so adorable how he thinks it will work.

Beetlejuice. The effects are really well done and the film has a unique creativity to it.

I saw Crimson Peak yesterday. The visuals are gorgeous and the actors are all good. The only thing I disliked was the CGI. Del Toro really needs to stay away from that because there were plenty of scenes that could have been downright terrifying had they not made the ghosts so wispy and obvious.

The Little Shop of Horrors, the Roger Corman original. Actually surprisingly good, for a dumb B-movie made on a microbudget in two days. Some of the parody aspects haven't dated well, but a lot of the humour still works. I think my favourite line is, "Give it up, officer. You won't find him here among the toilets."

I saw Spiderman:Crybaby Parker the other day.
What a fucking waste. This kills the Spiderman.

Roger Corman is truly the master of competent movie making. I watched Death Race 2050 recently and it was exactly what I hoped it would be: gory, campy, and funny.

The cartoon wasn’t Shakespeare, but yeah, coulda been better.

Some weird movie on Netflix. But I watched so many in a row I can't remember which weird movie it was. I think it was called Following. It was a modern day film noir about some weirdo who is obsessed with following people. He gets mixed up with a guy who breaks into apartments and steals random objects just to mess with people. And then his whole life goes down hill from there.

I pretty much stick to the indie horror and thriller stuff as I'm not very interested in Hollywood these days. Plus Netflix focuses a lot more on their original stuff and I am very disappointed with the lack of good horror classics from the 70s and 80s. I really don't want to see some Syfy channel level garbage from 2015+.

Went and watched the Snowman this morning, it was worse than I was expecting, it's not even enjoyably bad, it's just a plain fucking mess.

You know when somebody decides to tell you about their long, nonsensical dream that doesn't even have you in it and you're like "dude ok enough"..

Mother.

71: Into the Fire

A war movie based on the defense of P'ohang and the 71 student soldiers stationed there during the Korean War. A nice mixture of explosions and some interpersonal drama to fill the 2 hour runtime.
