What movie do you think gets overhated too much?

Back in high school I had a classmate that was a 100% TRUE and HONEST Jar Jar fan. Not just that, she'd say Jar Jar was the best thing in the franchise as a whole and otherwise disliked Star Wars in general. I used to wonder what movies she did like since she thought he was so funny but never bothered to ask because aside from the Jar Jar thing I really didn't like her.

Was she also obsessed with Minnie Mouse and Scrooge McDuck?

Cause I've once found a Jar Jar fan in a site and I was utterly befuddled by it.

No, I don't recall her ever mentioning Disney. She always used to say different things she wanted to be or do for asspats from the teacher based on what was relevant at that moment, it changed on a day-to-day, week-to-week basis.

I too am in the camp of not hating Jar Jar that much. Don't get me wrong he's annoying and kinda racist but he's far from the worst part of the Prequels.

To me, Miss March got an unfair amount of negative press when it was released. Is it oscar worthy? No, not really. But who cares? The oscars are just Hollywood hacks sucking their own dicks with a pretentious awards show that the general public doesn't even get a say in.

The fact of the matter is that it's got a lot of genuinely funny moments for a dumb little buddy comedy movie. Critics tore it to shreds, with one guy even suggesting that it be shown to captured terrorists as an interrogation technique. That's waaaay too harsh, especially when a ton of worse movies came out the same year.

I think Alien 3 is a good movie and doesn't deserve the hate it gets. I do agree that Alien and Aliens were better, but I think Alien 3 is a good movie with a fittingly bleak atmosphere that lends to the horror. Although I do agree that the Assembly Cut is far superior to the theatrical cut.

I mean, I can understand people hating on Alien 3 when it came out in the early 1990's because it was a dark and almost Gothic form of horror film and was a massive change of pace from the action-packed awesome that is Aliens. Plus, as stated earlier, Alien and Aliens were cinematic masterpieces, so Alien 3 had a tough act to follow.

But after the cinematic abortions of Alien: Resurrection and the two Alien vs. Predator movies, I'm surprised people are still salty about Alien 3 (even James Cameron spergs about how much he hates the third film, though I understand his hate for the fourth film), although I have heard that Alien 3 is much more popular in the United Kingdom and Europe than it is here in the United States.

Either way, I'm just glad that Alien is making a comeback indirectly via Prometheus (which was an okay film, but not as good as the first three Alien films) and now directly through Alien: Covenant. Let's hope that Covenant can fully revive the franchise after Alien: Resurrection and AVP killed it.

The reason everyone hates Alien 3 is it killed off Hicks and Bishop in the shittiest way possible then tried to be "scary" when all the victims we're actual murderers and rapists.

Oh, I know most of the salt came from Newt and Hicks dying. Despite that, I enjoyed the movie and its grimdark tone.

And say what you will about Alien 3, but Alien: Resurrection is far worse.
