Fuck that hobo. Unless it's drastically different in Eastern Europe, food is the easiest shit for homeless people to obtain; charities, soup kitchens, churches, people who feel charitable but don't want to give them crack money. I've seen hobos turn down food being offered to them because they just don't need it.
Breaking a pigeon's wings so you can carry it around for a snack later is cruel. You try to minimize an animal's suffering if you can, even if you plan to eat it; hunters are supposed to track an animal they've injured but not killed just so it's not wandering around wounded and in pain. Also a pigeon is going to be filthy, disease-ridden, and full of literal trash. He could swipe a $1 bag of chips and it'd probably have more nutritional value, be less likely to give him a parasite, and I think anyone on earth would prefer petty theft to animal torture.
Also, and this is unrelated to the pigeon question, but the homeless should be hunted for sport. Just wanted to add that important factor.
