Again, Idea Guy must be someone Chris knows in real life. They probably don't see each other in person that often so that's why the updates aren't daily.

I think doing a containment thread for generic "minor hedgehog #8,003 marrying [insert legendary pokemon here]" or "CWCki neo-nazis" would be fine, and putting "Idea Guy finally becomes the ultimate troll master and convinces BlueSpike and Clyde Cash to get Chris to un-transition and become not autistic and get a job" into Random Chris Updates or their own thread, (if big enough) would be the best.

Yeah, I'm not a fan of containment threads other than necessary ones like Random and Paid because they deter people from posting. On the other hand, the Idea Guy threads kinda suck to read because so many comments are more about him than the updates. I guess it's because there's only so many ways to phrase, "lol, Chris was tricked into writing something stupid" or "lol, Sonichu canon is being fucked with," especially because a lot of the content is repetitive, and people seem more compelled to post in individual threads.

True. The mods quarantined Idea Guy threads into Random Updates for a few weeks, until the Rosechu has a dick update happened. Seemed to work okay, but it and Chris doing less while under Idea Guy's spell had the side-effect of making the board look dead.

I don't read the Lolcow board, but from what I understand, each cow there has one thread, which can go into hundreds of pages, but people seem fine with it. If that's the case, it should be work for a containment thread here, too.

People are getting pissed off with him because of how boring things have been with him lately. Moving everything into a single thread isn't going to get people to stop hating him, and I doubt it'll get people to stop expressing their hatred either.

The problem is that the board is dead outside of the Idea Guy bullshit. What's happened in recent weeks? Chris went to Magfest but aside from that, almost everything has been directly tied to Idea Guy. Not that there's anything wrong with the board being dead. Chris has had dry spells in the past. The problem lies with actively shrinking the exposure of what content there is.

That would be fine if the entirety of CWC was condensed into a single thread, but we're not the Lolcow board. We're the CWC board. We should be taking advantage of the space provided to us, not trying to condense everything into a single thread unnecessarily and freeing up space we don't need and can't use. Individual threads focusing on a specific event is just cleaner and more organized than cramming everything into a single thread and having people talk over eachother whenever things start to overlap. You can section off specific pages of a thread to mark new events but we already have a superior system in place with being able to create multiple threads without needing to worry about bumping other subjects off the board.

I think we are both over- and underestimating our influence on this troll saga:

On one hand, we think our attention is so important to this, that it drives the idea guy, and without it they would just down tools and let Chris be. Which has proven to be patently wrong. We can't control Chris's life, and we can't control who trolls him, we couldn't when it was Jessica, and we're incapable of doing it now either..

But in the other hand, we underestimated the importance of our comments and feedback on how this saga is going, and thus we ended up with some of them being included in the troll plots. But the problem is that we can't use that at all. Because again, we don't have any real control on whoever trolls Chris.

So the only thing left to do imo, is to just create a good discussion environment.

I would normally say Chris should be literally murdered IRL because isn't making any content besides Idea Guy but the Magfest thread showed that him having fun makes spastics on this site mad so it's worth keeping the CWC board alive despite what happens with Idea Guy threads.
