Okay, A) Concord didn't give you a choice with its commitment to diversity with its shoddy character designs and mandatory pronoun selection. (Well, the choice would be not to buy it, which what several people decided NOT TO.) B) I never said either game was good or bad. C) RPGs typically strive on giving players the freedom to make choices in various degrees.

Because both characters were straight in the first game and it's not even vague they are 100% shown to be straight. They also took a close male friendship and made it into a gay romance.
The developer also was part of gamergate the first and then decided to put everything he said he never would put in the first game in the second.
Henry is not a create a character and you have very limited options in how he talks to people. The fucking prologue of one has you already in love with a woman and your friend Hans who you can be gay with now most of his quests involve helping him fuck women.

There's one thing you can't accuse Concord of, and that's a lack of diversity. Mandatory pronouns I'll give you, but this KCD2 forces you to be bisexual, so it's similar.

I resorted to looking for youtube (and irl) schizos for rare new game recommendations, emulation and modding to cope. My favorite games of all time are the Ratchet and Clank games and that type of game is basically dead and buried now.

Sorry for the double post but I just gotta get this one last point on the KCD 2 issue out there, then I'll probably never talk about this game again.
My main issue with the whole controversy is the way the devs try to hide the changes made to the game. Like I didn't care about Baldur's Gate 3 having gay shit in it, because they were always upfront about it, they even showed it off at a press event. They said this is what the game is, we're proud of it and if you like it, buy it.
But in KCD2s situation they tried to hide all of that shit, and that makes the whole thing seem disingenuous, like they just threw it in there because they were pressured to do so and are now ashamed of it. Like if the last game had homosexual relationships in it, or if they had talked about it in a demo like "hey, we got some feedback, we've heard you and decided to add male love interests into the game." I wouldn't have an issue with it because it wouldve been upfront for the customer to see. But they didn't do that, because they didn't want people to know about it until the game released. It just seems real shady to me, and it's like a rug pull for anyone that defended the last game for its controversial decisions.

Youtubes algorithm has me figured out and does a good job letting me know when things I'd be interested in pop up, and I only follow hobbyist who aren't farming for outrage clicks or there to bitch and moans about shit, but want to share stuff they like and are passionate about.

I should make this a copy-pasta at this point I've said it so much, but all it takes is being willing to leave the AAA industry to burn, and play indie games. If that is unacceptable because of things like graphics and zeitgeist, then that's your fault.
For me it's the blatant selling out. Abandoning the historical accuracy he wanted so much for some of that sweet ESG money.

I don't. Ocassionally something will pique my interest like Synthetik or Noita, but I've gone full retroboomer mode. I only play DOS games from the late 80s/early 90s and PC games from the mid-late 90s/early 2000s and PS1/PS2 era stuff. It's fun going back and playing games you could never buy/never got a chance to play as a kid.
