I must confess that, after his Christmas pageant, Rudy's regularly-scheduled slideshows seem a lot less entertaining by comparison, so I don't know if I have the patience to watch an hour of him dick-riding his favorite Englishman.

Still I can't resist pointing out that Winston Churchill also wrote alternate history. In Churchill's story, the Confederates win the Civil War with English help, abolish slavery out of the goodness of their hearts, and then the CSA, USA, and UK all become BFFs forever. So I guess it's about as realistic as a lot of Rudy's old scenarios, although poor Winston never knew the joys of MS Paint.

I kinda like Whatifautist, but he needs to understand that "conservative" and "embraces all of Western culture before 1900" do not mix. The old order died a slow and painful death because it failed to answer some difficult philosophical questions, and guys like Rud want to leapfrog over these questions and pretend nothing is wrong. I'm not sure if Rud understands that the Enlightenment itself is the first domino, the first block in the Jenga tower that guarantees the eventual collapse.
