What's one of the worst games you ever played and why?

I think one of the worst ones I played was this 360 game called Vampire Rain. It was a very clunky third person game that you would die quickly from vampires in two hits and they can leap at you from great distance and speed.
Remember renting it from a game crazy as a kid, and only playing it for a hour or so till I just dropped it.

Good video showing it in gameplay from HVGN

I had a friend who tried to get me to play Genshin Impact. I finally caved and downloaded it - which took a thousand fucking years by the way - and when I got to it, the game was worse that I imagined. Usually I like to be pretty open minded about games, but this was a pile of shit. The settings and character designs were absolute eyesores, and their voices gave me AIDS.

The combat was barely rewarding as well. It's the kind of game you can't believe people actually spend time and money on...not to mention the entire fanbase is full of either pedophile autogynes or dumpy women in their 20s with no prospects for the future. Needless to say the person who recommended the game is no longer my friend.

If this is what the chinks have to offer they are not fit to rule the world.
Genshin Impact is AIDS personified and the player base you described is entirely accurate. How people are unable to see though the shitty gameplay and waifus shilled to milk coomer bucks depresses me. It proves that if you slap an anime girl on something, people will buy it.

The worst game I've played was Sonic 06, which I purchased solely to have a laugh at the unfinished mess. Actually just like 80% of Sonic games could be classified as a 'worst gaming experience.'

Jesus christ, guess it was bad enough that you had to cut ties with your friend lmao

Genshin Impact, with it's ubisoft-tier repetitive gameplay, it's more interesting as a unintentional social experiment than a game.

VVVVV. Beating it just made me infuriated since there was nothing especially challenging about it. Dying just put you back at the start of the room with no punishment for failure, you could easily brute force your way through every room. But in addition to that the game basically just gives you a giant middle finger for finishing it. I never felt like I'd wasted a minute of my life until I beat it.
Play it if you like to hurt yourself for no reason, but if you want a similar game that's very good and worth it's salt, try Tower of Heaven. Tough challenges with evolving rules, kickass music and a neat premise. It was everything VVVVV wanted so much to be.

The Outer Worlds. Definitely not the worst game, but by far the most overrated. Idiots kept saying it was a "fallout killer" but it was short as fuck and had almost no replay value. You had an entire solar system for a map and only 3-4 tiny places to explore. Fallout 4 was 30 times better then that shitshow.
The writing for that game was so fucking shit.

My biggest disappointment from the past decade (just barely counts now, it came out in July 2012) is Test Drive: Ferrari Racing Legends. It was a Ferrari-centric game, which is good, made by Slightly Mad Studios using the exact same racing engine as the Need for Speed: Shift games, which I enjoyed.

The problem was that most of the content in the game was locked behind challenges that were ridiculously hard, almost insurmountably so, and I don't mean hard to get gold but hard just to "pass" and unlock more content. There's no difficulty curve, you're jut thrown into ultra-hard scenarios right at the start of the game in challenges that aren't optional, before you even can race in normal career mode or arcade-type "pick a circuit, pick a car" races.

The outer worlds. I am a huge fallout fan, thousands of hours in each game. I thought I would enjoy TOW based on the developers and the hype around it. I think I got 3 hours in and felt completely uninterested and gave up. I haven't touched it since then. Never dropped a game so fast. Even made it further into no man's sky at launch.

The first Witcher. The writing was terrible and the controls were janky and non-responsive. Christ only knows why they thought it would be a good idea to use the same engine as Neverwinter Nights 2 and, instead of a Baldur's Gate kind of RPG they went with that strange amalgamation of 3rd person, RPG and adventure game. It was so bad I never bothered with any of the other games in the series. Rate me MATI if you want, I don't give a fuck about playing as Geralt. If I want to know his story I'll read the books.

Besides that I'd say Omicron: Nomad Souls. Janky controls, ugly graphics, slightly interesting game world ruined by David Cage's attempt to shove several disparate genres into one title.

As for most disappointing, it'd have to be Battletech 2018. Instead of advancing the game's technology level with real DLCs the grifting cunts at Harebrained released a bunch of tepid garbage, never fixed glaring optimization issues and called the game done/good enough. They set the story in the most boring time period of the Battletech setting, literally right before one of the most interesting, then don't build on the half baked product they put together. Fuck Harebrained.

Stargate SG1 Unleashed. The only positive was the main four voiced themselves.

It felt like they tried to hodge podge the 1994 movie books into the tv series continuity and ended up sucking hard.

I remember playing Hong Kong 97 on online emulators, This is probably objectively the worst game I have played but it is one of the best known examples of shitpost games out there. The reason the game was made is a fuck you to Nintendo as a response to the censorship policies in the 1990s. As expected, the game wasn't licensed and stores rejected it. I'm surprised someone even found that gem and emulated it in the first place. It also gave birth to some of the best memes.

As for games coming to the quality of becoming complete shit and not even in a so bad it's good way. Roblox is progressively getting a lot worse due to it's ever increasing strict censorship rules. Any word could trigger an "Inappropriate name" or a Ban. Roblox used to have the forums but they removed it in response to forum raids proving how authoritarian the Roblox admins have become. There has also been talks about Roblox exploiting children for their own benefit to. Not only is Roblox bad but it is corrupt.
A video where a person calls Roblox an unplayable game.

I recently played Immortals Fenyx Rising and it was ...it was a servicable game but god it was shit. Much like Genshin Impact, this game is a blatant wannabe of Legend of Zelda Breath of the Wild. Unlike Genshin Impact, Ubisoft was stupid enough to not try something unique. At least this game doesnt directly steal animations from Zelda like Genshin does.

In Immortals Fenyx Rising, it is ancient Greece where you take the role of a manlet or femlet named Fenyx who survives a ship wreck. They lost their brother, the captain of the group, who has gone missing. Somewhere else, the greek god Zeus approaches Prometheus (chained to a mountain) to talk about the current shitty state of the world and Olympus. Prometheus turns Zeus' attention to Fenyx and makes a bet that if Fenyx can overcome obstacles in their journey or whatever, Zeus has to admit Prometheus was right about humans having heroic potential and set him free.

So thus begins our hero's journey with two dudes commentating on everything you do in gameplay as you retardedly run around the world doing instanced puzzles, collecting mcguffins, and not-zelda mechanics. The controls are awful for the level of precision the game asks you to perform and the commentary is so milquetoast and boring. Really no wonder why I keep seeing this game in the clearance bin in stores. It also has a fuck ton of DLC.
