What's the rarest game you own?

Please indulge my curiosity: why? I have no idea why I'm asking since I've never heard of this game but maybe there's a good story to it!

Funnily enough, the game itself is set in Akihabara in Tokyo, i was interested in the series beforehand and when i went to Japan for the first time, i noticed all these copies of the game holed up in game stores for super cheap in the actual district it was set in (didnt pay more than 10 bucks for each singular one), so i snapped them all up for less than $100!

Apparently, Mario Party 3 is pretty rare and I got that one. I might have a rarer NES game, but I've misplaced my collection.

I own a copy of Little Samson for the NES, one of the best NES games for the NES. I would be very hesitated to sell it despite the absurd price its going for these days.

I have Berserk: Millennium Falcon Hen Seima Senki no Shō and Ghosthunter both for Ps2, Although i don't know if they are rare but i don't see them around on the market.

Crime Cities, a rare late 1990s-very early 2000s cyberpunk game by Techland. You play as an undercover cop sent to investigate organized crime in Pandemia star system, the place Terran Federation dumps all criminals into. You pilot a flying car and complete missions for various people and organizations; technically it's a sandbox game, but there's not much to do besides looking at all these giant billboards and getting into trouble with the police.

It's quite atmospheric, despite the very dated graphics - you get lots of spam from various sources on your email and there's a news ticker that shows the events on the planet and the rest of the galaxy, and it surprisingly boosts immersion. Also, it had a pretty good soundtrack, courtesy of the guy that later wrote the music for the first Witcher, Paweł Błaszczak.

Good thread, here's some that I own. Some of the PS1 games are greatest hits but still pretty rare.

Mine are probably my Complete in Box Mother 1+2 and Super Mario Bros 2 for GBA. Its nice being a far-off isolated islander with a Yellow GBA cart.

Others may include Super Mario RPG, other SNES games like Doom, Mystic Quest, and I also got the NES style GBA SP.

You may ask for a tour of my game collection, but its not much. I got maybe 30 SNES games, but only 8 NES games, all crap ones.

Game collecting did not exist in the Bahamas. In the 80s and 90s, you had to rely on trips to Florida for you to get games.

NES-
Rush'n Attack, Donkey Kong, Contra, and Final Fantasy
SNES-
Super Mario RPG, Legend of Zelda: A Link To The Past, DKC: 1,2,3
PS-
FF9 and Legend of Mana
GBA-
Final Fantasy 6, LOZ: The Minish Cap
DS-
Ghost Trick

I used to have other rare ones but like an idiot I traded them off for the ones I have now. (Also almost got my hands on Earthbound and Chrono Trigger as a kid but someone bought them the day before I came back with the money.)

I think the rarest thing I have is Super Mario RPG: Legend of the Seven Stars for SNES, it was made by Square and I fucking love it. I grew up watching my Aunt play when I was 10 back in the early 00s and it made me want my own copy and a SNES. The price varies due to demand and I have seen priced at $48 to $98 at the most, I grab it for the former back in 2012 when I had a Retro Duo 2.0.

I say if you have a SNES and never played its worth a pick-up, especially if you want try out what inspired Paper Mario, seeing as how Paper Mario was suppose to be Super Mario RPG 2.

Edit: Lol, apparently SMRPG isn't that rare, oh well.

Monster Rancher games. 4 is pretty rare and pretty high priced on Ebay. Monster Rancher 4 was my favourite PS2 game.

I'm not sure specifically about rarity,

But I own a Virtual Boy and mario clash, A sega saturn that had a switch installed in the back before I got it that switches the region from Japan to the US.

I've heard twin snakes on gamecube is uncommon and I bought that.

and as far as games you can't even really buy anymore digitally that are rare I have 007 Legends, Fable 3, NBA 2K9, Prey, Saw The Game, Dirt 2, Walking Dead Survival Instinct and Air Control on Steam.

I forgot about Ephemeral Fantasia. Only know of this game to begin with because it was one of the first I rented from Blockbuster back in the day.

I have an import of Seiken Densetsu 3 for the Super Famicom (box, manual, everything) which I'm sure makes it pretty rare.

I actually bought a reproduction cart with the fan translation for SNES, I played it on my old windows 95 computer with a emulator back when I was twelve. I always wanted a physical copy but was annoyed when I found out it never got localized. Really can't wait to experience one of my favorite games in a new way when I get my copy today, I'm sure a controller will be a hell of a lot better than a keyboard!!

Also, some more rare games I have are:

Chrono Trigger/Final Fantasy 4 Greatest hits (I actually got this in my Retro Game Treasure a few months back brand new, If you don't know what RGT is I recommend checking it out)
Mega Man Legends 2
Metroid II
Metroid Yellow

I have Lunar The Silver Star, Popful Mail and The Secret of Monkey Island for the sega CD. I had an import Saturn and some games that I ordered out of the back of either an electronics gaming monthly or a game fan magazine, I had a few import games like Sailor Moon Super S and Panzer Dragoon II Zwei and Azel, and the rarest game I own for my U.S. Saturn is Clockwork Knight 2.

About the rarest Playstation games I own are Ghost In the Shell, Monster Rancher, and Gundam Battle Assault. I have a copy of Dragonball GT Final bout which was the rarest PS1 game for a while, but it got a re-release near the end of the console's life cycle. Didn't own many hard to find games for the PS2 other than the complete .hack// set, infection, mutation, quarantine and outbreak. Apparently Phantasy Star Online episodes 1&2 is a rare gamecube game. Lastly for the Dreamcast I have Cannon Spike and Record of Lodoss War.
