What's the rarest game you own?

Nah, unfortunately the Ace Attorney games had quite a few reprints and can still be purchased for around $20-$25 brand new off Amazon.

It's hard to find legitimately rare games in the modern era. It's not impossible, but in the 3-6th generation of gaming a rare game would get anywhere between 2,000-50,000 printed copies, 7th gen and up would get hundreds of thousands of games most people would consider "rare".

I guess a better term for games like these would be uncommon.

True, yeah I didn't think about that. All I know is that certain modern Nintendo titles aren't really reprinted unless there's a huge demand. (Bayonetta 2 comes to mind.) I don't think Bravely Default has been reprinted yet but I could be wrong.

Certain modern weeb games don't get reprinted either, unless there is a huge high demand for them. They tend to have really nice limited editions too, moreso than AAA games.

Is Miracle Girls Festival all that rare inside Japan, though?

It's disappointing that that game is called "Miracle Girls Festival" but doesn't actually have the twins from the Miracle Girls anime, one of the more underrated 1990s mahou shoujo shows (if you can call ESPer girls "mahou shoujo").

Are those two NBA games considered rare because they were very late releases for each system? I have NBA 2K, though only because it was one of the included games when I bought a replacement Dreamcast off Craigslist or Kijiji.

I don't really collect 'rare' titles, but I do go after ones that have a lot of sentimental value. Occasionally, the Venn Diagram overlaps enough that I end up paying way too much for something I really, really wanted. To this day, I still regret not taking my friends' offer of Brave Fencer Musashi for the ridiculous price of free.

I do have a few hard-to-get titles here though. The three biggest prizes of my collection are Intelligent Qube, Tomba!, and Metal Gear Solid: Ghost Babel. I also have some oddities, like the Die Hard Trilogy, Mortal Kombat: Trilogy, Metal Gear Solid: Twin Snakes, Custom Robo, FreQuency and Project: Overkill.

And I also own
which is awesome, and
Rule of Rose
Rule of Rose
which I only bought just to piss off the guy behind the counter. Interesting story behind that one. I didn't realize until I played it that it's actually an effectively good horror game.

I'm not trying to throw shade, but Project Diva F 2nd is pretty common. There are a few Best Buys in my area that have been trying to move dozens of copies of them. The first one is really hard to get, however. I have been fighting tooth-and-nail to find a physical copy of the first Project Diva F for the PS3 at a decent price. I may have to dig into my rarely-used Amazon.jp account, which I've only used to buy weeb gifts for weeb friends.

Cave story 3D for the 3ds. not the Eshop version that's a direct port of the original game, but the physical copy that was the exact same game but recreated from the ground up with 3D models animated to look like the sprites.
There's a rumor that the publisher apparently stopped shipping copies because some spergs fucking raged about the game because it wasn't sprites like the original and didn't add anything new aside from the fact that it was entirely rebuilt from the ground up with a more modern engine and had some great 2.5D backgrounds.
The cave story+ remastered Soundtrack used in game really fits here more than the PC version . Shame Cave story 3D didn't get a release on any other platform.

It plays the exact fucking same as the original but Cave story fans apperently thing this game is like the second coming of the antichrist or some shit because every comment section in any video about this game is filled with intense sperging about "muh graphics"

This thing is somehow worth $1500. I've misplaced my fancy Custer's Revenge but when I find it again I'll post pics.
Is that a Sig pistol?

Anyway,i owned for a while a original fs2000 CD room game, probably one of the best flight simulators of all time.
Sadly it dissapeared.
I have also somewhere a pc strategy game,i can't remember the name, it had a guy in red beret with gloves on a tank on the cover, was space based.
Edit: found it, it was ground control 2:exodus,great RTS game, had decent graphics for 2005.
Got it from a full games magazine in 2008.

Bomberman 64: The Second Attack and Goemon's Great Adventure for the N64. I bought them used for $30 on Amazon a few years ago.

Also, Mystical Ninja Starring Goemon for $8 at a local mom and pop store. Best deal ever! :D

The only NBA title that qualifies as rare, as far as I remember, is NBA Elite 11 because it technically never got released- it was cancelled at the eleventh hour (and after the game went gold, and had copies printed), and a few copies leaked into circulation.

The closest thing you'll ever get to that is NCAA 2K3 on the GameCube that is one tough to find basketball game.

Would be a good way to make some extra cash, sell both separate to maximize your profits.

I don't get on ebay regularly, I posted it once. Got a lot of looks but no one bid, I think I put it for 100.00 USD buy it now. That is kind of high I think but it was comparable to other ones on there. I had a copy of Harvest Moon 64 pretty much mint, box looked great, had the instruction booklet, in fact had the damn receipt in the box for some reason still lol. I think I got 150.oo for it IIRC. I'm not a collector that stuff doesn't have any use for me, I'll sell all of it but I got rid of most of the better stuff.

Not too sure how these count, but there's still a container full of commodore 64 floppy disks in my house, along with gold cartidges of one of the NES Zelda games and a gold n64 cartridge of The Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask.
