What’s the worst meme of the decade?

Thot.

When a girl comes onto a stream and even if they're not pretentious, not catty, hell, even if they're the homeliest chick you could think of, chat devolves into a constant stream of "THOT THOT THOT GTFO THOT LMAO THOT KICK THOT"

You know who you people are.
i know what you mean. back in my day we said tits or gtfo.

And all variations.

Pickle Rick, while other memes are obnoxious and overused, at least they aren't so blatantly manufactured.
Pickle Rick was a genius marketing move, and I still think the episode is good on its own. But yeah screw that pickle prick.
To be fair, you have to have a very high IQ to understand Rick and Morty. The humor is extremely subtle, and without a solid grasp of theoretical physics most of the jokes will go over a typical viewer's head. There's also Rick's nihilistic outlook, which is deftly woven into his characterisation - his personal philosophy draws heavily from Narodnaya Volya literature, for instance. The fans understand this stuff; they have the intellectual capacity to truly appreciate the depths of these jokes, to realize that they're not just funny- they say something deep about LIFE. As a consequence people who dislike Rick and Morty truly ARE idiots- of course they wouldn't appreciate, for instance, the humour in Rick's existencial catchphrase "Wubba Lubba Dub Dub," which itself is a cryptic reference to Turgenev's Russian epic Fathers and Sons I'm smirking right now just imagining one of those addlepated simpletons scratching their heads in confusion as Dan Harmon's genius unfolds itself on their television screens. What fools... how I pity them. 😂 And yes by the way, I DO have a Rick and Morty tattoo. And no, you cannot see it. It's for the ladies' eyes only- And even they have to demonstrate that they're within 5 IQ points of my own (preferably lower) beforehand.

The fucking guy that made that probably did it as a joke, and was probably rolling on the floor laughing when he saw the shit show that he caused.

My hates:

1) Boomer memes and most conservative-christian memes (i.e. FUCKING minions, pro-jesus crap, 'in my day', etc...)
Counter: The 'OK Boomer' response is just as bad.
2) Reddit/Twitter/Twitch-speak memes: 'Yikes' 'oof' 'Yaaas' 'Brah' 'terribad' 'Bae' 'freindo' 'listen here kiddo' 'sweet sweet summer child'
3) Any/all Rick & Morty memes. Esp. Pickle Rick and Szechaun sauce. Fucking brand memes for shekels.
Counter: the '...Very high IQ...' post is terrible
4) Any/all Simpsons memes. Steamed Hams is the worst. Fucking brand memes for shekels. At least Simpsons existed before memes were popular.
5) Harlem Shake. (but at least it got people together and dancing)

Other people hates - that I like:
*) Screaming woman and Dinner Cat. I love this one. I've had women scream at me exactly like that, while I have been seated calmly/snarkily like cat. I also like anthropomorphizing animals
**) Gnome. Annoying as fuck, but ironic - so I'm ok with it
***) Arrow to the knee. Makes fun of a stupid narration in Skyrim - so I'm ok with it
****) Dat Boi. I like the song.

Mentions:
-) Tide Pod memes/jokes - I would have this on my list, but idiots ACTUALLY ATE THEM. The real irony makes it a win.
--) pro/anti Trump - The pro-Trump crap triggers such outrage (CNN doxxing a kid for an apology) that it becomes ironically funny. The anti-Trump memes are usually just forgettably shitty and low-effort.

I don't outright hate any of these but I won't mourn their death.
  • The Drake comparison meme and all the other countless variations it spawned. (Especially the one with the white girl)
  • Surreal memes.
  • Saying stuff like based, cringe, triggered, and generally any other Twitch talk like 'oof'. Basically just meaningless lingo that's been adopted into online speak.
