What's your opinion on the "How does it affect you personally" argument?

and becomes a pubic nuisance,
Heheh

To be honest I never met anyone like the guy from the meme. Most people I know care about something, even if I don't agree with them.
But the people who tell you to care about specific things they actually don't give a shit about, are the worst kind of people (like politicians and many leftoids).

To quote a redditor from one of the less pozzed subreddits "The moral fabric of society is decaying and a libertarian individual asks a normal person "how does this personally (and immediately) affect you?"".
Reply to plebbitor:

Cool story, homo.

Please apply same logic to the Holocaust.

Thanks.

It's something that should only be said at a therapist's office and has no place in any serious political debate. But I will give it some credit though, many Internet slapfights really are over personal shit and in many cases, it is useful to hit the pause button and consider your own motivations for that particular engagement.

This argument that actually many libtards(and not that many Libertarians since the scamdemic) make is actually very dumb and delusional in nature.

For instance, when the woke left was very primitive and was starting to creep out of academia and the punk scene in 2013, many people have said the same exact shit to me. I warned them that this ideology is dangerous and should be destroyed before it spreads. Fast forward to this year, the woke ideology is full in force and even have laws mandating this crap even if it’s slowly dying off. The “How does it effect you personally crowd”will get a taste of a harsh reality check when the evil they dismissed is now enforced in the law

Lots of things don’t affect me at all. That hideous man just found guilty of animal torture in Aus - doesn’t affect me personally. But it’s an abhorrent crime, and it affects others and society.
Don’t forget alot of shit that most of the left leaning parts of North America, UK. E.U, Australia and New Zealand doesn’t affect me that much yet I still have to keep my eyes out for this kind of stuff because if you take these events with a “How does it effect you personally ” lens, it will eventually happen to you.
What you see in the world is ethier a cautionary tale or something extraordinary. So, keep that in mind.
