So, it’s popular to say it was around 2015 when gay marriage was fully legalized in the US, but there are some other contenders:
- The Agricultural Revolution: It placed different people in hierarchies as societies became larger and more complex due to advances in farming techniques
- The Edict of Milan: Legalized Christianity
- The Fall of the (Western) Roman Empire: Split up a once (mostly) unified Europe and led to the rise of feudalism
- The Rise of Islam: Forever changed the landscape of the Middle East and parts of Asia, with some even conquering Spain for a time
- The Fall of Constantinople: Muslim takeover of Turkey under the Ottomans helped change the main religion of Turkey from Christian to Muslim
- The Reformation: Caused new Christian sects to pop up around Europe and it led to more wars that destroyed nations
- The Thirty Years War: Bloodiest war in Europe up until World War I, mostly over religious differences
- The Colonial Era: The beginning of slaves being shipped to the Americas and directly resulted in race relations we see today
- The Enlightenment Era: Called the “Age of Reason”, but also resulted in helping create modern capitalism (both the good and not so good elements of it)
- The French Revolution: Beginning of the Jacobins, which were proto-communists
- The Industrial Revolution: Caused more people to leave rural places for cities for work
- The American Civil War: Ended slavery, but Reconstruction failed and it ended up creating more tensions in the United States with Jim Crow Laws
- The Progressive Era: More monopolies formed in this era and overall more support for large government in this time under Woodrow Wilson
- World War I: Destroyed the status quo of previous centuries as it ended many monarchies, but also resulted in the League of Nations (proto-UN) and the Treaty of Versailles, which was a big motivator for Hitler to take power
- The Russian Revolution: Where communism really took hold and later spread to other nations
- World War II: The aftermath of it helped lead to the creation of the European Union later on, in addition to the spread of globalism as means of establishing dominance abroad
- Rise of Communist China: Resulted in the CCP we see today and the effects of it have been disastrous for the people of China
- The Cold War: Led to creation of the CIA and all that it entails
- The Civil Rights Act: Signed in 1965 by Lyndon B. Johnson and to some, helped make race relations worse
- The Stonewall Riots: Beginning of the modern gay rights movement
- The Vietnam War: France’s mistake that the US was asked to help with and made things worse on the home front as a result
- The Nixon Presidency: Opened up trade with China and brought an end to the gold standard, with money now being based on petrol
- The Carter Presidency: Helped create an oil crisis, hostage situation in Iran, and rising inflation
- The Reagan Presidency: Helped spread neoliberalism while destabilizing nations in South America with the War on Drugs
- The Clinton Presidency: Along with previous presidencies, interfered in the Middle East that ultimately led to the 9/11 attacks
- The War on Terror: Instigated under Bush and both parties in Congress. Led to more government spending
- The Great Recession: Caused a housing and employment crisis
- Occupy Wall Street: In the beginning was more about class issues, but resulted in more idpol going mainstream as a way to break it up
- The Black Lives Matter Movement: Helped make race relations worse, but it at least made cops more accountable with body cams (that are now racist for some reason)
- Gay Marriage Legalization: Happened in 2015, but it is a common year people refer to as the beginning of Clown World
- The 2016 Election: Resulted in Trump becoming president and the media being put into a tailspin
- Coronachan: Made authoritarian governments even more authoritarian and made for more restricted freedoms
- The 2020 Riots: The time when many cities started to get burnt and people were worried of an actual civil war happening again
- The 2020 Election: Resulted in Biden becoming president and all that it entails
