Everybody peaks in the end. You're correct that some institutions move slowly or are incentivesed not to. Fingers crossed though, eh?
"I want to believe".
My prior posts about the penetration of trans ideology don't even touch the sides. Perhaps it's because I'm in Australia--and it is difficult to convey the thick penetration of Woke nonsense here--and yet more difficult to
imagine the pathway where it goes away.
For example,
you are not allowed to have a single-sex public event in Australia. You could have a 'women's event'--but you must let in anybody who identifies as a woman (that is, you must let in some men as long as they utter the magic words). This illegal status of single-sex spaces was enabled by an amendment of our Sex Discrimination Act in 2013 (we had a female prime minister at the time who was responsible). This shut down the Giggle app. Not only is there no appetite in our Parliament to reverse the SDA changes, there is no appetite to support even a Parliamentary review of the SDA.
Single-sex 'events' refer to anything open to the public in a general way. So (although it hasn't been tested as far as I know), an all-male sex club could not turn away a pooner at the door. If she pays, she gets in. (Not that I would not trust such a club to be completely pozzed anyway, whether the law forced them or not).
Every meeting at work that involves a 'big boss' begins with an 'Acknowledgment of Country', which is a prayer indicating supplication to Indigenous owners of the land on which we're meeting. In my toilets at work, there is a sign indicating that people are free to use the facilities consistent with their gender identity. Universities are
introducing, not phasing out, brand new Woke nonsense, like
Indigenous ways of knowing.
When I see this, day after day, ratchet after ratchet, there is nothing left in me to hope that reality always wins. Once introduced, things are almost impossible to roll back, if they are seen as the progressive thing.
A case in point: Australia's current Prime Minister introduced the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander flag, alongside the Australian flag, when giving press conferences. The leader of the Opposition said he would only stand in front of the Australian flag. People went apoplectic at this, at how 'divisive' this was supposed to be, at what an outrageous affront to human dignity it was.
Introducing the other flags happened in 2022. Less than three years ago. And now it's the norm and it's a regressive divisive move, apparently, to walk it back.
What's the way out? What's the pathway? What events will lead to that sign being removed from my work toilets? (The sign, by the way, says if you have questions contact HR or the work Pride network. Yes: they've elevated the Pride network as able to answer questions about corporate gender policy).
I want to believe. But reality bitchslaps me every time.
