Thanks for the response, really informative stuff. I'm interested in your assessment of Denmark -- you're the second Kiwi today I've seen criticize them despite most people absolutely lionizing their immigration restrictions.
Your description of the Netherlands also really intrigues me; it seems like they also have insane levels of migrants (mostly Turks and Moroccans, to my understanding) yet don't seem to have the same problems as places like the UK and France do. Is it because they actually, shock of shocks, managed to integrate? Or is it because they mostly just stick to their ghettoes and urban bughives smoking weed all day, and are too stoned and insular to really cause much of a stir except for random riots over Israeli footballers?
Regarding Denmark, it has the same immigration problem as Sweden in the sense that there are immigrants who are legally undeportable due to the asylum system, these are the criminal gang members people complain about. The immigration restrictions are very strict for the good people who actually want to live in peace and contribute, but don't do anything for the criminals. It's the opposite of how it should be.
The bigger problem with Denmark though is the gibs system. If you work there, you can expect the
majority of your income to be taxed and it will go to some NEET retard living off welfare. It's also an expensive country, so there is virtually no upwards mobility. There's a thriving underground economy because people are just fucking fed up with the government taking all of their money.
Nevertheless, it's a safe (compared to Germany and Sweden), high trust country. You can expect the government to help you if you're in a tough spot, like they will pay your rent or whatever so you don't become homeless, but it's nowhere worth the amount of taxes Danes pay and there are big holes in the system. There are universal problems that the cops ignore, but I feel like it's less of a problem there than in Germany, Netherlands, Czechia etc.
As for the Netherlands, it's honestly a very free country. They're the biggest producer and exporter of drugs in Europe but it doesn't affect the local population much because soft drugs are decriminalized and the government invests heavily into social services and stuff like harm reduction for hard drugs (which, despite a lot of kiwis saying the opposite, does actually work well). Drugs are what brings in most of the money for gangs, but it doesn't cause social issues within the country, only for neighboring countries lol.
They also have a huge sex industry in the form of megabrothels because prostitution is "legalized and regulated" just like in Germany. It's an absolutely fucking retarded system that causes these countries to become human trafficking hotspots by creating a parallel underground industry selling illegal migrants and children who can not comply with the regulations while attracting subhuman johns. This underground industry is then ignored by the government of the Netherlands so they can suck themselves off on the international stage. The Danish/Czech/Polish model where the government doesn't intervene in anything works best for prostitutes.
Basically to sum it all up, imagine that the Netherlands have a huge black market and lots of gangs competing there, and then the fucking government comes in to create their own gang and outcompete all the migrants in their own game. I would not raise a family there, but their system works. In a way they're like China who produce a lot of Fentanyl but don't have any drug issues within the country, they just export their problems elsewhere. UK and France try to tackle crime through policing, while the Netherlands tackle it by taking over the market.
