Biology, Bioengineering, Genetics, etc.: The fact that there are currently scientists working on implementing full blown replacement body parts and potentially cutting down aging through genetic engineering is going to be huge in the coming years. Once the body parts get locked down that will be a huge boon for people who have lost limbs due to genetic defects or violence, while genetic research could theoretically eliminate a lot of defects from happening in the first place.
Robotics and Artificial Intelligence: This one's obvious. People are constantly scaremongering about automation replacing workers and these are the guys working on it. It's worth noting that a lot of industries are less worried about replacement and more talking about augmenting: I've seen radiologists celebrate when programs come out that are able to more accurately predict scans even when you have guys in the AI field jumping the gun and saying nobody should go into cardiology since the field will be killed off by AI in the future.
Those are my two takes, share yours!
