Whitney Way Thore - Our Big Fat Fabulous Thread

Whitney was overdue for a thread here. I can't wait till her awful show is finally canceled (probably this year) so that she can reach her full lolcow potential and get penciled in for My 600 lb life in 2018.

(I also know two women with PCOS and at best they struggle to keep off an extra 10 to 20lbs at times, not an extra 350 lbs. Whitney uses PCOS as a lame excuse for being a land whale and I bet women with PCOS hate her for it.)

I'm feeling with all the two TLC stars that have gotten recent threads. (Whitney and Mama June), I'm wondering if we should scout this network for people to make threads about.

Might not be a bad idea to create discussions on their shows. My 600lbs life is filled with literal and figurative cows who aren't quiet enough content for their own threads.

One of the funniest videos to me is this one where Whitney tries to play a couple v.s. couple trivia game and starts having a tantrum because they're losing horribly.

Oh, God, this guy dodged a bullet when her pregnancy turned out to be the pizza toppings he got wrong.

We should def have a 600lb life thread. The "My 600 lb life SUPERSIZED" this week was the ultimate hate watch with a 800 lb immobile beast in a trailer in Paducah, KY named James K. Immobile, not even able to sit up, for three years. Shits the bed and makes his girlfriend and daughter clean it up. The part of the show where's he's supposed to lose weight to demonstrate he's serious about surgery for Dr. No? He gained 140 lbs.

Sadly I don't think he's literate enough to have a social media footprint, but my god I have never been more disgusted by a human being and I read this forum daily. (You could also tell the govt. pays his "girlfriend" to be his home health care aid and the entire family is just one giant drain on the welfare/medicaid system.)

@entropyseekswork omg we should do a live watching party for the episodes.

This fat bitch. I can't with her. I hold a special place of hate for PCOS fatties. PCOS is a hormonal disorder that causes you to MAYBE burn 25-50 calories less per day than the average person due to insulin resistance. However, the fats - including Whitney- whale endlessly how PCOS made them fat and that it's just utterly impossible to lose weight when you have it.

Truth time! Fatties eat themselves into having PCOS, not the other way around. Body fat functions as a hormone excreting endocrine organ, and when you have a bunch of it, it floods your body with extra estrogen, giving you PCOS. Losing a mere 10% of your excess weight will alleviate, or CURE, your PCOS if you're a fatty. Normal people don't have this luxury, and fats like Whitney would rather pop metformin and say it's not their fault than get better.

I feel you on this one.
I have thyroid disease, which is generally a disease that affects older women, but I was diagnosed in my early twenties. Before I was diagnosed, I had no idea how sick being hypothyroid can make you. I just thought it was that thing that supposedly makes people fat. Now, when people say "you don't know, that person might have a thyroid problem" about obese people, it irritates the hell out of me. Thyroid disease is not only easily fixable with medication, if you get tested for it, which why wouldn't you, if you think that's your problem, but it doesn't cause a huge amount of weight gain, even if you're not on medication. If I gain weight, it's because I like pizza and eat my feelings. If I feel like shit, maybe I need a blood test to see what my levels are and if my medication needs to be adjusted. If you weigh 300 pounds and you have a "thyroid problem" but you're not on medication, you're a dumbass, your thyroid is not your problem, and you probably feel so terrible from being overweight that you can't tell the difference, anyway.

I'd be up for a 600 pound Life thread.

I'm still not over last weeks show, with James, the guy Entropy mentioned above, who was 800 pounds and who appeared to have mushrooms growing on his legs. The excuses he and his girlfriend came up with were literally astonishing and his poor daughter was the only one living in reality. They pulled her out of school to help wash and feed the beast. Each season, they have one or two like him who are going to fail and you can tell from the outset.

It's been 3 or 4 months since his show ended. He said Dr Now's refusal to do surgery was just firing him up more to lose weight, and his girlfriend says "you want the weights to do some exercises" and of course, he says "nah, not now". I'd hoped to find an update online but nothing. Dude will be dead by the end of the year; hope we catch his obit.

Anyway, we could put it in community watch? I'd be down.

As for this chick I haven't seen her show. There is only so much fat people life that my husband can take. :). PL: Living with a catastrophic illness myself, I tend not to feel too sorry for people with diseases like PCOS which can be managed and are more irritants than dangerous, but it really bothers me when they makes excuses because of it. I've known people with PCOS before and the women I've known seemed more concerned about excess body hair than weight.

Anyway, what or who I know is irrelevant but it's destructive to go on national TV and say PCOS made you fat, when what you put in your mouth did. It's like James on 600 pound life being mystified at gaining 160 pounds after scenes of him packing in the food. There are just too many who believe it.

What's TLC gonna do next, an eating disorder show? My small, fabulous, skelly life starring Eugenia Clooney?

I don't believe for a second that Whitney thought she was pregnant*, it was a total ploy for ratings and to give some fake drama to the this season because her life is incredibly boring and not worth a TV show. (Show is on the verge of being canceled) Producers & writers are probably tearing their hair out trying to figure ways to make this fat bitch's life even remotely interesting to viewers. Dancing fatty videos only get you so far.

*PCOS/and pregnancy tests
Edit: Whitney well knows that ppl with PCOS have elevated levels of LH hormone. It really shouldn't give you a positive pregnancy test (which is for HCG hormones but HCG does have similarities with LH) but some people with PCOS have reported false positive pregnancy tests. Basically a blood test is the best method for someone with PCOS and anyone who was taking such matters seriously would have one before announcing they were pregnant on TV, in fact even definitely pregnant women wait typically wait up to 12 weeks before announcing a pregnancy outside their partner/close family. PCOS can def give you a positive LH/ovulation test and they happen to look exactly like pregnancy tests. Some people use LH tests as pregnancy tests for this reason. Not to mention there are a plenty of sites online you can order fake positive pregnancy tests from (hell even fake sonograms). Bitch faked the whole thing for ratings.)

I think what pains me the most about women like Whitney who insist on doing these intense workouts while they're so morbidly obese is the fact their joints are going to be absolutely fucked much quicker. Their knees are under so much pressure as is, adding that to the grease-fire is going to make them deteriorate so much faster than they already are, and it's all just to push their HAES narrative. :(

What a fucking brat my god

Lol the dance instructor seemed passionate. A little catty, maybe, but she wasn't all that bad. She even lied to Whitney and told her she did great

Also, who is Whitney's entourage here? Are they genuine friends or did they pull two randos from the street, tell them to act like a 1980's stereotype of a gay man, and shove them into the show to get them LGBT views?

The two gay men are actually real friends of hers, going back to high school.

Lol, so she goes to an actual dance class where the instructor doesn't let lazy shit slide. Her best friend is in heaven because for once he gets to dance full out and have proper instruction - but he has to pretend not to be happy, because Whitney is pissed off so he can't be happy in the class?

Narcissist 101. Your monkeys must cater to you at all times, and not feel their own feelings, and always be thinking about what the narc is feeling. Whitney's family and friends could take a stand and make her face reality, but they all love the money and fame train, so no one will confront her other than in the most pussy footed way possible, and all of them think about her and not themselves at all times.

You've said it. I loved Jiya's attitude toward her because she's one of the only people not taking her lazy bullshit excuses. Can you imagine the fit she threw when she saw the scenes where her friend implied he had to act unimpressed when he was having the time of his life?

Whitney's self obsession is one of the things I can't stand about her. She's unimaginably selfish, so narcissistic, and it's disturbing how most people around her seem to enable this behaviour.
She grooms everyone around her to cater to her massive ego: from acting as personal masseuses, servants, on-call dance performers and collaborators that jump into action whenever she snaps her porcine fingers.

The reality is that she's not a great dancer, her dance class seems dull and not exactly challenging to most of the women in it, and yet everyone around her continues to build her up and stroke her ego no matter how immature and horrible she treats the people around her.
Even her friend, Buddy, has been endlessly groomed by her and her parents to such an extent that I'm waiting for him to finally become tired of her antics, but that might be my :optimistic: showing.

One thing I want to know is how much they paid that woman to kiss and flirt with her during the horseback riding episode.
The episode preview has me going :story:
I haven't seen it yet, but I'm curious to know if it was a set up, but I can't imagine why anyone would be interested in her in the first place. It's not even about her weight, it's her terrible personality and her overwhelming sense of entitlement.

He had a crush on her for years, but Whitney finally ignored him for so long that he moved on. He's actually the one who stands up to her most often, probably because living with her is an unending nightmare, and only worth it for the paycheck at this point.

Buddy seems to have gotten a thinnish girlfriend who's a really great fit for him, and good at handling Whitney and her childishness. I foresee Whitney trying to break them up when she sees Buddy catering more towards his girlfriend that to her, perhaps a declaration of a love "that's been right in front of me this whole time!" I hope Buddy's girlfriend invites him to live with her so he can get out of Whitney's circle (and maybe lose some weight once he doesn't live with another binge eater; his girlfriend is almost normal sized.)

I can understand a little bit her assertions about it being hard to lose weight. When you hit a certian Poundage it can take a real toll on your body. Joints aching, harder to get up, harder to motivate yourself to do anything .... add into that it gets worse the longer you let it proceed unchecked. You kind of feel like you just don't know where to begin after a while, and it becomes this huge . . . Elephant in the room (hurr hurr) that you pretend to not notice.

But, that being said... the PCOS and thyroid issues she cites??? She is trying to justify her own poor choices as being due to these diseases, and that ain't right. The only disease she has that is really affecting her weight is being lazy. Too lazy to get off her ass and make a change. Yeah, it is hard to do, to get up and literally rewrite the way you look at food and the way you live your life. But it can be done. It IS hard, but not impossible.

All of this. "But muh PCOS" or "but muh thyroid" as an excuse for carrying an excess 300 pounds is a huge copout and Whitney using it as a reason to be lazy and whine "omg I just can't lose weight" trivializes the rest of the miserable shit that comes along with both conditions.

I have PCOS and hypothyroidism and for me, the maybe 20 pounds I have to work to keep off isn't as big a thing as the other physical symptoms. Whitney's crying about "can't lose weight waaaaaaahhhh can't get pregnant because PCOS" really pisses me off because of this. I have two kids and yes, it took a little longer for me to get pregnant but I think her fertility issues are more because of her weight. My aunt also has PCOS and she's pretty thin and has two kids also, but then again she's also not hugely overweight.

And for the powerleveling....

My son has a thyroid issue and he is 12. He battles being so tired he falls asleep in class at times, he battles being freezing cold or too hot, he has trouble with his frustration levels and often gets sick when his levels are off. He will be on meds for the rest of his life. But!!!! He and I do not let the Thyroid issue define him, we do not let it be an excuse for poor eating decisions or bad attitude. We have learned what we need to do to make his issue better. He eats well, exersizes, and goes to bed on time. We have made the issue easy to deal with and NOT an excuse. This lady, she uses her issues (that are caused by her weight, not her weight was caused by her issues) to excuse her weight/health/poor dietary choices.... and that makes peopLe like me and the two above really angry. It is an ILLNESS not an EXCUSE. Makes me fucking pissed off to see these HAES asses use these illnesses as a "Get Out of Diet Free" card.

I forgot about the crush Buddy had on her! I could only remember Whitney's reaction to when her friends and family pointed out his obvious feelings for her.
I still can't believe he hasn't bailed on her after she threw a fit because she switched gears on him once she became his landlord. He must either really give a shit about her or be some kind of a masochist. Maybe a dangerous mix of both.
It doesn't look like he even has his own bedroom or anything and he's paying half of the rent.. I wonder how long it'll take for him to finally give up on that extra income.

Hopefully he realizes he deserves better than Whitney's constant immature belligerence and gets away from her. I'm sure he would've gotten sick of her way sooner if it wasn't for his night job which encourages him to sleep during the day, thus allowing him to avoid her.
She does seem like she's going to try to break them up. Didn't she already allude to the "love that's been in front of her the entire time" sentiment somewhere in season 1 which led to her puckered bitch face pouting for at least a couple of episodes after Buddy and his girlfriend began dating?

I was sick for a while before I got diagnosed, because I didn't have insurance, and I felt so terrible all of the time, I was worried that there was something horribly wrong with me. I was always so exhausted and everything hurt all of the time. I was actually relieved it was just thyroid disease. Sure, I have to take medication for the rest of my life and get regular blood tests, so I have to go to the doctor a lot, but it could have been so much worse, and I'm grateful that it wasn't. I've had so many blood tests that I have scars on my inner elbow, though. I jokingly refer to them as my phlebotomist track marks. I'm sorry that your son is sick so young, though. Poor kid.

I think most of us here seem to agree we're willing to cut people with legitimate health issues some slack, but the thing is Whitney is not even the size of a typical fat person you might see leaving the house. This is funny because Whitney talks about herself, fat acceptance, and PCOS as if that excuse still makes sense at the size that she is.

You can see Whitney in a room full of other fat people in the big girls dance club, you can see how she struggles to move and how significantly bigger she is to all of them and how is does make a difference.

In the bellow video Whitney confronts the comedian from the radio show after the show. The comedian points out how fake her happiness is.

What I find really interesting about this is Whitney talks about how weight is not always an indicator of health and happiness in a way that sounds like we're talking about someone with just a bit of a flabby gut.

For someone who says they're happier than they have ever been you sure cry a lot.
