Who should be allowed to vote?

I support term limits and the right to vote as all rights should either be emancipated at the countries terms of matuiry as set by the courts.

In the United States this is set at 18, but you are not really emacipatied at 18. Can't drink, and in some States can't C&C until 21.

I think if we ask people to die for us at 18 then they get all their rights. The rest of us can fuck off until 21, or we demand all our rights at 18

Nobody. We should be living in a capitalist monarchy.
At this point I can see the attraction, but it would be painful setting one up and ensuring royalty learns that they only rule as long as they care for their citizens a little, and never listen to Jews.

I've often thought about this and ways that voting restrictions could be changed that would be palpable for modern democracies and here's my three points which ideally should be implemented together but can each stand on their own.

Firstly increase the voting age to 25. The reasoning behind this is maturity, its not flawless but by the age of 25 people will have at least a few years of living in the adult world and should be less inclined to emotional appeals in politics.
Secondly no NEETs, or alternatively you can only vote if you pay taxes. The idea behind this is that only people who actually contribute to society should get a say in how the government is ran. I'm not sure on whether retirees should be excluded from voting too but it should solve the problem of benefits scroungers voting to get more gibs.

No one, we should replace our government with AI, then they should mandate that humans chemically castrate themselves and slowly drive them into extinction.

Anyone above the age of 23/24/25. Philosopher king can easily turn into USSR/CCP, and I will trust a pooner before I do Amazon/Elon. 18 is too young, most people haven’t started thinking about adult shit like family kids and long term plans, they should be barred from making national decisions that will impact the foreseeable future. Even at 20 most people are just high schoolers with a job. 23 is pretty optimistic, and at 25 most people have become normal adults with a developed prefrontal cortex. We still need democracy, just don’t let kids do it

That seems nihilistic. Wouldn't it make more sense for the AI to start selectively breeding humans for good health and intelligence?

The current problem with voting IMO is that there are people out soliciting votes with pre-filled ballots during elections in certain places. Or at least there were in 2020. Absentee balloting needs to be kept to an absolute minimum because its inevitably abused by people literally soliciting ballots from total morons who otherwise would never vote.

I also personally see all the "early voting" going on as a real problem. It will be denied up and down, but whatever party controls the state office that runs elections inevitably has access to the early voting numbers. Having those numbers allows certain groups to "game" the election in that they know just about exactly how many extra votes they need to statistically produce to win.

Its best to have elections that force people to go out and vote on election day. To go to an effort to actually vote. Because if you make it too easy for a certain type of person to vote, their votes are going to be "farmed" by groups

Fighting age men who either hold a livelihood that contributes to society or are actively serving.
Your policies and approaches to a lot of things will change when it's your own skin and future on the line.

Women, queers, and old farts have done nothing for society in a political sense. Our founding fathers knew what they were doing.

You want to limit voting to those with a stake in society and are contributors. But the difficulty is defining and implementing this in a way that isn't rapidly exploitable. Some people suggest property owning individuals which has some merit but could quite quickly tip into a protectionist owning class who make policies preventing people willing to contribute to society from having representation or alternately, gaming it so that people qualify who wouldn't (cough, Biden's recent mortgage penalties based on credit score). Others have suggested people having to have a child. Again, there's some good reasoning behind that in theory but it assumes responsible parents invested in their child's future. Look outside your window and ask yourself who is having the most kids.

I think the least exploitable way of filtering for invested, contributing voters, is logically something that can be equally applied to all people. That's the logic behind a few people here suggesting having to pass an IQ test or answer questions about parties or candidates. I think this is also rather exploitable and also pretty hard to rigorously administer.

I'd suggest an alternative universal filter would be some period of service. Military or otherwise contributing to society. Could even be civil service roles (an area of bureaucracy that might well benefit from an infusion of temporary workers rather than entrenched lifers). This becomes increasingly viable and important as we move towards societies which due to automation and AI have less need for a working population. It really would help sort out those invested in actually contributing from those not. This would feed only into legislature. It wouldn't prevent business and property ownership, capitalism can continue to exist in parallel but the legislature and executive are now selected only by a cross-cutting group in society who have voluntarily committed to a period of social service. These people would be full citizens.

Service guarantees citizenship.

That's due to a feedback loop from people voting who shouldn't be voting.

The work-for-citizenship idea sounds intriguing. I think places like Russia may have sinerhibg similar with mandatory enlisting, but I don't know their consequences for not doing their time in the military

My two favourite ideas in the regard:
* Boring but practical - You could only vote if you pay into the system more than you earn. That way voters will think twice about gibs because it could take them out of the voting pool. This doesn't include medical healthcare due to army service or natural birth defects.
* Fancy but hard - You could only vote if you read three books the last year. Any books that contain more than 200 pages, and you should be able to summarise what you thought about them.

Does the Hillary Clinton biography count? Or the one by a Kardashian?

I don't know but a lot of people say reverse women's suffrage, and one of the arguments against it in the first place is that married men would essentially get two votes assuming wives agreed with husbands.
But hear me out, maybe that's not such a bad phenomena. In this era I feel like the family unit has gone through a lack of appreciation if not outright denouncement, even though I think we all know strong families make a strong society. Maybe married people should have a stronger influence because they're more likely to have better values.

Democracy is fake and gay. And even if a democracy could work, it wouldn't work in a multicultural shithole since the shitskins go shoulder to shoulder to vote to harm White people anyway.
