Who's the worst person you've encountered on the internet?

No clue if this person is still around but there used to be this guy obsessed with former WWE wrestler Molly Holly. This was after she had left the wrestling world and was just living a normal life. He had hundreds of accounts with weird videos calling her every name in the book. I don’t remember exactly when I discovered him but I think it started happening after she got married. There was one terrifying video in particular where he had hundreds of her action figures all lined up that he filmed himself throwing in the garbage along with an outfit she had worn wrestling once.

Some injun conservative who, upon the conclusion of an argument I had with him, committed straight fraud to get to my address and phone number, then used it to actually contact ICE and report me as an illegal immigrant (despite me still living in the same place for 40 plus years that I was born in). I had to take a day off just to drive across half the state for the hearing and have the judge dismiss this as "internet garbage".

That's GameFAQs in a nutshell. It really is crazy how it's full of people with 20+ year old accounts, still posting the exact same way they were posting when they were teenagers, only instead of smug fedora atheism, it's ultra-hostile troon bullshit.

And above all else, political boards are even worse, Myspace had a few group pages, and they were more concerned about keeping debates from happening than having a fairly good environment to discuss events in.

In general? Every single Australian faggot on Twitter. Idk something about how blindly they trust their government fucking pisses me off. Or all of reddit.

Specifically? I went on DeviantArt to see if I could find people to laugh at. Instead I found a bunch of unsupervised preteen girls posting family drama and personal information. There was a gross, grown man messaging them asking them to confide in him. He totally understands them. After all, parents not letting their 13 year old get pierced ears? That’s abusive! You can trust me.

It was the most obvious and open grooming I’ve ever seen on children. At least Discord groomers wait until no one’s watching.

It just further cemented in my mind that no child of mine will be unsupervised on the internet for a long time. And they will definitely be taught how to protect personal information & that NO grown man is interested in “supporting” a random preteen girl through puberty and fights over ear rings—- unless he is a pedophile.

On a serious topic, Bram Kleiman. 34 year old pedophile who raped multiple underaged girls and would take photos of little girls at local cons in canada. Got arrested 3 times and let go in less than 6 months in total. He got arrested once and hit a police officer with a sword, and still got out.. In less than 6 months. He was taken off the sexual offenders list as well. When I was 14, there was women who were under the guise of "kink" who accepted him and would go to him willingly, but I remember they only acted like he was a bad person after media got involved and pretended to care about his pedophilia, when they legit would pander to him and other men before. The convention center still let him in despite him being a pedophile and actively hitting on girls as young as 12 there. His name was Kyrick or something like that, it was a shared father-son account in a game. He was a proto-SJW type of influencer from 2008, and overall unpleasant. I matched with him, the game had glitches and he took advantage of them but was still losing (effectively he had 2.5 times the health he should have had), he was toxic and tried to use his community standing as a threat to try to win.
 
Me, but a close second is this faggot on the old WotC boards named Lina Inverse who really used to rustle my jimmies back when I was young and hotheaded. I ban anyone who likes Slayers from my TTRPG games out of general principle now.

Boring answer but I’d have to say Nick Bate, guy is the king of sick fuck pedos on the internet. Thank fuck he actually got punished and sent to prison probably for the rest of his life.

Had a couple of furries try to groom me when I was still a young'n. Met them in an online FPS. I liked making friends, and they offered to hang out and play other games with me. It was more than typical back then to party up and make friends with randoms in pubs. They added me on a messaging app and we talked a little bit. I said I was just a kid and didn't have money or a job to buy games, and they assured me they'd get me the game we're going to play.

Shit got weird really quick though when they started telling me they'd get me whatever games I want. I'd asked something about whether they'd get me expensive games, and they said anything. Any games. Doesn't matter. Luckily I was a smart enough kid to listen to the wrenching feeling in my gut, and without another word I blocked them and deleted them.

One of these guys was a larger dude with a furry pfp, and the other was a tall skinny ginger guy with long greasy hair in a ponytail and a pubey goatee. He looked like he weighed maybe 110lbs at most and wore glasses. He had himself as his avatar, so that's how I know these details.

I've been online for many a year and have experienced every variety of trolling, harassment, whatever on both sides. I'm sure most of us have. Point is that even after all of the other shit (and really weird and terrible shit at times), I still rate two furry groomers trying to get after me as the worst people I've ever met online. I can easily see how a slightly less reasonable version of myself would have latched onto those two perverts and it disgusts me beyond words to this day to have both experienced that and to know that other kids fall victim to that very simple ploy really easily.
