Reddit is a hivemind that helps reinforce a "safe edgy" style where sexuality, politics, and religion are freely discussed but in a manner which only gives off the appearance of discourse or individuality until the moment somebody goes against the grain, in which case they are dogpiled by countless users you could be convinced are all actually the same person.

Come to find out you cannot join the discussion if you don't have a minimum level of Karma. Which they don't even fucking tell you what the threshold is.

That right there is what really bothers me about Reddit posts - the super weird, cloying, fake niceness. It's as if they're all so socially stunted that they don't know the difference between being polite to a stranger and acting like you want to suck his dick.
