I think it's suspicious that trans people, especially trans women, don't just want to look like their gender, but an attractive person of their gender. Looking ugly or too masculine is "triggering". It wouldn't be enough for a transwoman to look like Honey Boo Boo's mom or Leslie Jones when you could look like a Japanese idol or a sorority girl instead. Hmmm...

My point is that no one wants to look ugly. Who doesn't wish they could be hot? But for transwomyn it seems like the goal is to look like what a man thinks a woman should look like. It's not enough to look like a regular plain ass woman. Or look at the transmen who want to look like early 20 something yaoi stereotypes and stay that way.

It is difficult, although I am not an expert on transpeople, I just do not get the feeling that Laverne has had any real dysphoria in her life. I just cannot put my finger on it, it's odd.

I get that dysphoric transwomen don't want to be in a men's prison, but if they get moved to a woman's facility they should have to be in isolation or get the big snip before being in genpop in my opinion.

There's too many violent guys in prison that are just taking this as an easy way to get access to women. And prisoners aren't known for being honest so the whole argument used for bathrooms* doesn't work on jails.

Trannies complain of being born in the wrong body, right? So why wouldn't be born in the body of an ugly woman be enough? If you offered to an autogynephile that they could get magic plastic surgery that would make them look passably female 100% of the time but mediocre/ugly, then I think they'd be too vain to accept. Because AGP's only goals are to be their sexual ideal.

With people with genuine gender dysphoria, no, I don't think they would be too vain to accept. I've known people who fit that description.

Here's an interesting paper titled Shame & Narcissistic Rage in Autogynephilic Transsexualism which I think explains a lot of chimping out you see from transwomen who are deadnamed/reminded that they're male in any way. The kicker? It was written by a transwoman. Anyway I find it interesting that this thread says that the LGB community hates trans people. That might be true online, but there's almost no evidence of that in the real world (at least not in my tiny corner of it). There's no tidal wave of trannies trying to take over any of the gay social groups round here, and they'd pretty well get told where to get off if they started with the gender shit

Thanks for the article. One of the noteworthy topics in there was how positive human interaction is necessary for developing a strong sense of self and empathy. You can't get that from text on a screen, which may explain why online groups don't help alleviate the narcissistic symptoms, only further drive a wedge between the idea of the self and how one interacts IRL. There's a cogntitive change (I should not have to feel shame for my identity), but online interaction is insufficient to stimulate the brain to build rapport.

I don't buy the idea that trannies past so easily. Maybe most trans men or Asian ladyboys do, but your average white trans woman? Nah. Even Jenner doesn't pass with a ton of makeup and plastic surgery and tons of funds. One of the lay-dees indeed.

Jenner also transitioned very late in life. The earlier you do it, the smoother it is.

Also, if you are a reasonably attractive dude with a more feminine face, it's much easier to transition.

One of the things that bugs the fuck out of me is Tumblr trannies whitewashing the fact that being transgender is incredibly uncommon. Most people you meet in daily life are not trans.

Also it seems to me like there are way more fucked-up MTFs than FTMs, and that those MTFs are way more whiny about, like, everything. Not that there aren't crazy FTMs as well, but MTFs are much more common in the lolcow population.

I know two FTMs IRL and both are, honestly, fairly boring guys. They put a lot of effort into passing, and don't start flipping tables when a stranger mistakes them for a chick.

They also didn't rush into transitioning, which is another fucked-up thing that Tumblr trannies promote. One of them spent multiple years doing his research, getting therapy, and making sure this was what he wanted before even starting the process of getting on T. That was after being professionally diagnosed.

Meanwhile, Tumblr encourages teenagers to go directly from "Hmm, I'm uncomfortable in the stereotype of my gender" to hormones and surgery, which can have very, very serious and permanent side effects.

Why is the rest of the LGB uncomfortable with the T? Because the normal trans people just go "I just want to live as a normal dude/chick" and go about their lives after transitioning.

It's the crazy people who identify as neither dude/chick, but specifically trans (and therefore perfect and deserving of coddling), that lead to the very reasonable reaction of "Holy shit, these people pose a serious risk to what little progress we've achieved."
