Well, before finally making an account I've lurked here since somewhere around like 2014-2016 I think? Don't remember the exact year I discovered this place and I constantly procrastinated on making an account until the 2020s. Why? Hell if I know. Maybe being stuck at home is what finally pushed me to do it. (Not gonna elaborate too much for obvious reasons. Nobody cares but the covid situation fucked things up for me pretty bad. But it's gotten much better as of late.) But now I mostly just post here because it's fun.
Though I didn't start using my account much immediately since I made it during the time Keffals was fucking with it so the site was down so constantly I almost forgot I even made it.
Like it or not this place is probably, unfortunately one of the last places online I can be honest with my opinions and not get dogpiled for it.
It's ridiculous actually, even just having the wrong opinion on a piece of fiction these days is enough for these people to tear you apart it's honestly ludicrous.
So that's why I'm here now. I can say what I actually want to say without having to dance around it or play nice no matter how benign the subject is.

I've been around and as far as I can find there really isn't any other place like this and thats really sad for a place as big as the Internet.

The majority of the web is controlled and/or populated by varying combinations of bay area and bay area like corpojuggernauts and their suits and far left loonies. The right leaning web is influencer centered clubs getting whack a moled on big tech sites, sites devoted entirely to politics seemingly populated mostly by boomers, and ghost towns with a sprinkling of special interest sites.

I guess the closest equivalent to this place that are big and active are redboards and the chans but there is not really a sense of community there that you would get in other sites and it seems theres as many leftards as rightoids on there these days despite their reputation as rightwing hangouts.

I know Null doesn't like this place to be labeled as rightwing, as if he has any choice in the matter. But KF is pretty much the only fairly big active place I can think of online thats a general lounge of sorts for a reasonably tech savvy majority that are not far left crazies that will police your pronouns ( though not necessarily right wing). Where I can kick back and have a decent conversation about a wide variety of topics and not risk being mobbed by sjws or banned by sjws for wrongthink. But at the same time not be the only person in the room who knows about pop culture less than 50 years old or knows more about computers than your average soccer mom. And thats extremely depressing.

A few short years ago the internet was supposed to be this wonderous place with infinite possibilities. Who would have imagined there may literally just be one place on the web a halfway sane person could treat as a general purpose lounge.

Can't even remember how I found this place, probably through the CWCki. Now the farms is pretty much the only site I actually browse that isn't for utility only. I don't even care too much about lolcows, I just want to enjoy the closest to a free speech website that's available today. The Farms walks a nice middle ground, allowing free discussion while gatekeeping enough to keep most of the tards and human spambots away.

This site have very little competition as far as I know, if you don't want ultra cucked corpo normienet. How many people are actually ready for and can handle Full Retard War like Null? It's very unique.

4chan's issue is that if a thread is too popular or too old or the jannies don't like it for whatever reason, it gets 404'd and vanishes off to the ether. Most of the time they get archived but archives are not the real thing.

I asked this myself often lately and was or still am close to gibberishing my PW and just leave. I like the discourse, i like most users so i have no idea what brought this on. Everything feels kind of pointless lately, even talking to fellow autists. I don't know.
