Why do you use Kiwi Farms? - ITT we share reasons why we use this website

Found it as a reference for following a community and after lurking a while figured it would be a good place to join.

I have to agree on it feeling like the old internet. People want to have a discussion and not shit the place up randomly just for the hell of it. I like that the site has various ares such as lolcows and communities to get a laugh at and at the same time serious discussions in other off topic areas like games. A major bonus that we can pretty much say what we think here too instead of having to dance around land mines like in most online discussion areas now.
I lost my taste for Facebook back in 2012 when people started using images like a bearded guy toasting a martini glass with the bottom text of "Eat Shit." In the early days of facebook, arguments were done by way of actual conversation with actual people. Once the discourse was *just* a series of memes, I quit the site and killed my account. An occasional visual aid is one thing. Reducing yourself to just being a conduit for the memes and messages of others isn't even living by any quality of living standard, it is merely surviving.

I also find it one of the last tolerable places on the Internet

I joined because of the Chris chan documentary. I liked how null acted/was portrayed, especially in the interview where he talked about the last phone call before the arrest. So I peeked out of curiosity.

That's interesting; I feel like I'm seeing a sea of magenta when I look at join dates. I bet the Farms have completely recovered their trajectory from before #dropkiwifarms and the dummy email accountocaust. If (when! I believe!) payment processors are forced to stop being gay to @Null shit's going to take off like jamming a car into gear you revved to 8000rpm.

Lurked for a while, joined to give an update on a personal lolcow. I stick around because I really do miss forums from the early 2000's. But much like growing up, getting a job, finally having money for video games, but no longer having the time to play them, I don't really have the time to participate in the community as much as I would otherwise enjoy. Perhaps I can ride welfare during the next Democrat administration and post NIGGER and sneed to my hearts content.

One of the last true bastions of what speaking your mind really means. You cannot get away with saying 'Nigger', 'Retard' or anything that is deemed slang or non-PC on platforms like Reddit or screech fits will be abound to have your head. We're even in an age now where people censor the word Abuse, it's fucking silly. I feel like here, I can be a little more unrestrained, whereas in other places, I have to actually think a little before saying something. The point isn't being that I'm trying to say or do things for validity, because not everything I say is the gospel. The point is just being able to say things how I want to say them and articulate in manners other people outside of here may consider too brash because of some of the words I've used. It's tiring having to think about dancing around people like that.

It is sad, fun, angering and sometimes depressing to see how many poor souls wound up the way they did and KiwiFarms shows you them all. Fuck Reddit, it's KiwiFarms that is the place you really don't want to wind up in as a lolcow. Because it is sometimes disturbing, the amount of detail and gossip that pours out on someone. Fucking Chris-Chan of all people, we have an entire documentary on his life.

But it does serve a great importance, as in, don't fucking be any of these people and you're probably fine. The worst you can probably get is just being pecked at for being a little stupid at times, just don't give people a reason to be like the FBI and crawl through your life to find anything to plaster about.

KiwiFarms is just a place that comes incredibly close to a time of the wild west of the internet, before the enshittification, before the sanitizing and before cyberbullying laws were ever a thing.

I like making retarded little asshole bullied kids rage by making fun of them for being unoriginal unfunny future lolcows then not giving them and any dog shit no effort weening they try to send my way any attention, hence my negative score rating as if that shit matters. And it's also nice to have threads where obscure internet weirdos are discussed because that shit is my jam. (I've contributed the tough guy cow "Nick Word" that I found on the prospering grounds along with a couple YT weirdos on Obscure Laughingstocks if you want to check those out)

Several reasons.

  1. It has replaced social media for me.
  2. The commentary is insightful and genuinely funny at times.
  3. It is, in fact, the last bastion of free speech online, which is genuinely sad.
  4. It tickles my autism.
  5. Many of the meltdowns are hilarious.
  6. Breaking news is often covered in real time, by on-the-ground witnesses, before the media can get their narrative going. It speaks to the sad state of journalism that a funny fruit forum is more trusted than them.
  7. The community is one of the best I've encountered online.
