I'm just putting this out there to see what's on people's minds.

I think his level of popularity is disproportionately high compared to how amusing he actually is. He has two ~150 page threads and a dedicated subforum, yet many don't like him. Are the people who frequent this part of town (including me) just circle jerking here? I'm not trying to be controversial, I just want to see what people think.

I have a morbid fascination with lolcows. I think my fascination with Golden Shower is the same as my fascination with Pixyteri and Andrew Dobson. They are such trainwrecks but I couldn't look away. Well I can, but they just keep on giving, and I just can't let it pass.

idk he seemed interesting but the constant sweethearts and OMG THIS GUY IS MEGAHITLER posts wore out my interest

I follow him because he was the first lolcow I got to interact with. He also reminds me of some people I know in real life.

To me the biggest mystery about Jay is what exactly happened with his father and brother, but ultimately that's just providing specificity to what we already know: that he had a dysfunctional home during his formative years. I suspect he will burn out much much faster as a subforum though than just a general topic.

In the beginning he just seemed like the perfect lolcow. He failed at every aspect of his live, be that his job, his art projects , his romantic relationships, basic social interactions and so on, while still being absolutely full of himself. That coupled with the fact that he kept falling for every ploy thrown at him, seemed to make him a great target for ridicule.
But by now I guess it is showing more and more that his extremely passive-aggressive personality just won't let him live up to that potential. He doesn't show any interesting reaction to anything. The seemingy biggest setback in his recent years, his breakup with Heather, just lead to him making some whiny journal entries, before just switching to the next best target. Once his initial weidness has worn off in another month or so, he'll be forgotten forever again.

For a someone who so desperately wants to be anything but ordinary, Jay is more and more turning out be be one of the most boringly sub-standard persons on this planet. He's neither the great hero he claims to be, nor the circusfreak the trolling public would enjoy. Don't think he really needed a subforum.

I think the reason I follow any lolcow is because of their ego. Like Jace can talk about his fake military history or trying to give a serious speech but then somehow say "But my mom wouldn't let me because she's a bitch" and maintain the facade. I find that fascinating. Chris, Jace, GK, their perception of themselves is so drastically different than reality. They think they have things figured out yet they continually fail. People tell them how not to fail and they ignore them or insult them.

With GK it isn't so much what he does but rather that he manages to exist as he does. He's been sheltered for a long time and originally I didn't know how that was possible. Then I found out his brother pretty much had to deal with him being his shadow his whole life. Now GK doesn't have that. He took a shot at the real world with a job and he couldn't hack it. Also, the internet has taken note of him. So what is going to happen when he finds out Amanda is fake? What will he do when he keeps getting messed with? He's smarter than Chris in many ways but more naive in others. So will GK just vanish off the internet once more people take notice of him? How many fake girlfriends will that take? Can he somehow learn from all of this or will he reach the same conclusions Chris has but just much sooner?

For me the interesting thing is Jay's comics and journals. Both are full of the kind of fail I find funny and interesting. A subforum makes sense as long as there's content to discuss and people to discuss it.

His streams don't interest me any more because Jay has no idea what he's doing and because he crumples and withdraws rather than gets angry at things going wrong.

The stuff he writes and draws remains interesting to me. I like amateur psychological profiling, and there's plenty of stuff I've yet to look at.

He's new.

Everybody's already talking about Jace. Everything to be said about Chris has been repeated ad infinitum. Everybody who isn't unhealthily fixated on either of the two is aware that sometimes, you just want someone else to feel superior to.

He's posted here, and apparently he keeps trying to come back. In his spare time, he makes passive aggressive journals and posts that all but scream of how he keeps us in his heart. The whole time, he remains aware that he's gotten his name plastered on some other little corner of the internet. Nothing hardens e-penis like the prospect of loyal followers. So people talk about him here, he hints about haters there, he knows that we're talking about him and we know he knows that and he knows we know he knows we know etc, like two serpents devouring each other tail-first.

Returning to the comparisons with Chris and Jace, Chris had his PVCC and Clyde Cash. Jace gets stalked by Gamerfood. GK has had three Julays and some people who play Gmod with him, and none of those individuals' names have turned pink as far as I can remember. A chance to be part of the next Julay Saga with no lasting impact on their membership. That's like a giant neon sign proclaiming "INNER CIRCLE: AUDITIONS STILL OPEN". And naturally, people will flock to it.

Still? Huh, didn't know that. Anyway I just find his particular brand of insanity amusing. Streams seem to be a bit of a bust but his journal entries and weird internet sexploits have been enough to keep me amused. I'm sure it won't last forever but for now he's one of the more entertaining lolcows.

For me it's his ego. He thinks of himself as as a hero even though he (among other things) faked fainting just so he could avoid riding a roller coaster. He thinks his comic is the shit even though it's just shit. :alog: He seems to expect everyone to "get" his comic even though there's no explanation for anything in it. Why is Young Tardian half human half power? (WTF does that even mean?) Where did his power armor come from? What is Dot? (That was explained eventually but it certainly wasn't in the comic)

I just wish he would've reacted with little more than meh when people started blowing things up with TNT when we were playing Minecraft. I kind of want to see him rage.

As others said before, I think it's his ego, but more than anything else his psychological wanderings in his stories are fascinating to behold. I don't think I'd ever seen this from someone who wasn't in prison yet, and this could be the beginning of something bigger. At least, that's what I think.

I also think Jace and Deagle Nation have set the bar absurdly high in terms of lolcow content, particularly with livestreams. This is no bad thing.
I wonder what would happen if Chris' peak had coincided with the current Jace heyday. Chris is a nicer guy than GK and his reaction to trolling is more interesting, but they're basically both unusual people with terrible comics. Jace is something else entirely.

I'm not really a fan personally. He's just boring. His streams suck, his art is horrible but well within dA standards, and there are a million other weirdos out there just like him.

He's very popular because he is very fucked up and the two usually go hand in hand.

He's not really all that interesting though, if you think about it... *yawn*

His ego. It's insane to watch. It doesn't matter what he draws or writes you know is will be stuffed full of unwarranted self-importance.

We make him more entertaining than he really is. Case in point, see Dynastia or "Lisa."

The more of his streams I watch, the more I see it's just this weird person shouting epic over the Duke Nukem theme that looks like an overcompensating pointdexter.
